I can't see FL not starting him and retaining him as Captain come the first game of next season. From then on it will be up to him to perform and keep his place.

Grimes though is performing as well as he can - I’m not sure he has the pace right at the top of the game but I agree he’ll be around next season whichever league we are in

That is true. His pace has been exposed a few times this season. Sometimes players just glide past him. Can only imagine it'll be more often next season.

If we're going to replace players because of lack of PL pace then we're only going to be able to keep 3 of the current squad, 2 RBs and a keeper!

Assuming we go up I cant see us doing a wholesale replacement either. I guess we will be looking at a GK 2 CB’s, LB and Frank, spending about £50- £60 million on those then I’m not sure where they will spend money on as one of the considerations must be to improve training and getting the academy to level 1 as too many of our youngsters get stolen season after season.

I agree, the only reason I could see him leaving is if someone like Wolves or Burnley offered us £5m for them to build their team around.
