Thought we were superb first half, it was like going back to the first half of the season, we had them pinned back into their own half. They just couldn't get out at all, at one point our furthest player back was about 15 yards in their half. Job done by half time so no need to press like we did in the first half, seen the game out professionally and left Preston on scrapes.

I wish they would stop blurting out songs straight after the game has ended, it killed the atmosphere playing we'll live and die in these towns. The fans were creating an atmosphere so no need for it.

Grimes's penalty was superb. Clinical, well placed and to the opposite corner to the keeper's guess. One of the best I have seen. Why does he not take more?

Yeah he gave him the eyes. He lined up that it was 100% the other way as well.

Chill mate.

I am, almost horizontal. Check my posting history I never wet the bed and didn't think we had blown it when our form dipped. Because there were clear reasons for the dip - not just everyone losing form.

Atmosphere was a bit flat at times … it was all just so easy, nothing from away end and had the taste of a training match between first team and the under 16s by the second half .. will be different Saturday and come Good Friday heavy knows what scenes we will inhabit by ten pm !!!

Great performance all round. PNE didn't have much to offer up front but Woolfenden, Kitching and Rushworth were in commanding form.

Grimes and Onyeka bossed the game.

The atmosphere was surreal last night!! It was almost as if we were watching, but in a waking dream. It was like there was a game happening and it was noisy at times, but people were keeping an eye on Borolonas score too. Maybe only having 5/600 hardy Preston fans there didn’t help, from Block 28 I didn’t hear a single chant, but they really didn’t have anything to shout about!
Pretty sure Saturday will be a lot different.

I said this the first time I saw him.
Not as good, but looks faster to me.

He is clearly a very good player. His first touch is better than Milan's and is a better defender positionally. He has already shown he can make intelligent runs and can score good goals.

He has been a little unfortunate with injuries this season and Milan has been in good form.

The atmosphere was very good I thought especially as there was such a small away following. At times we were just managing the game and possession, so not much to get the fans onto their feet. But the teams approach was spot on.

I still felt the the crowd did a good job of creating a party atmosphere.

Worth pointing out the the ref had a decent game I thought. Didn't get every decision right but one of the better ones we've had this season.

PNE were absolutely pants. Arguably the worst team we have faced. And that kit! We were playing the Traffic Wardens Social Club.

I would have liked a "proper" goal and Simms deserved the second for his stretch.

Oh how we have needed Frank. He takes all the pressure off Grimes. Much more a presence than Torp or Eccles

Good showings also, I thought, from woolfenden, JDS and Simms. Rushworth's positional sense borders on the supernatural

I agree, found it funny with everyone demanding a yellow card for the challenge on Sakamoto, but he allowed Wolfenden off for the exact same thing 2 mins earlier.

The one on sakamoto was more egregious and we’d have preferred them both booked given we were the dominant side.

We don't get them very often and when we do Wright is nearly always on the pitch.

I agree that they were both bookings, but I don't mind a ref letting stuff like that go as long as he allows it for both teams.

Wright is one of the best penalty takers we’ve had - that’s why
think he's only missed one if my memory is correct? Away at Watford when he slipped as he took it
