Genuine contention for England keeper in the next 3-4 years

His speed across the line is phenomenal
His footwork is brilliant
His catching is improving
His handling is spectacular
His shot stopping and anticipation is brilliant
His kicking is improving

I so hope we’ve agreed a fee shy of £10m with the loan

His maturity and leadership is also top drawer, agreed that he is a future England goalkeeper

We didn't agree a future fee I'm pretty sure that's already been confirmed.

I'm sure he will be the first player we chase come the end of the season should we be promoted but verbruggen has been linked elsewhere so it's not beyond the realms of possibilities that he stays at Brighton.

£15 million plus a decent sell on percentage would be a bargain in the grand scheme of things. I think Brighton will ask for even more though, and they’re masters of getting the high end of transfer fees.

Maybe they’ll do a buy one get one half price for him and Evan Ferguson 🤣

Sadly I think Brighton sell Verburggen, offer Rushworth the no1 slot and a big fat new contract with it - and although we can offer him being no1, no chance we will compete with Brighton’s wages.

that’s also assuming another Prem club doesn’t come sniffing!

Nice to hear but could easily just be to put pressure on Brighton.

While in theory Brighton can force the issue and keep him even if he wants to go in practice he will be in the last year of his contact and it will be down to him. They won't want to force him to stay and then walk for nothing when they can get a nice large fee off us.

But we've been here before. There's plenty of players who fans have decided love the club and are desperate to stay only for them to not think twice about going elsewhere.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh

He is nowhere near Prem ready and will never make the jump needed to compete at Brighton. They may as well cut their losses and let us buy him as a project...

I read somewhere that he is only contracted for another 12 months at Brighton. So if he says he wants to sign for us, Brighton cannot afford to be too greedy as they run the risk of losing him for free.

I put on another thread that I heard Brighton wanted to now keep him.
Copied in the ITKs but got no response.
But seen as hes spilling his guts on the Hamer thread I'll try @Saddlebrains again!

They’re expecting Verbruggen to be sold. The question is whether or not they want to replace him with someone who has no Prem experience.

The thing I love most is that he holds everything, none of this parrying and punching nonsense that every other modern keeper seems to insist on even for balls hit straight at them.
He made a save vs Bristol city where he seemed to parry it round the post. It looked like a decent save but you could see immediately afterwards he was miffed with himself for not catching it.

I was told we would be after James Trafford on loan if Rushworth is a no go

Wouldnt be a bad fall back would it
