Again, don’t disagree. Not a contradiction to say our rivals are good teams and we’re better. Ultimately the table will decide that. Just need to get behind us for the final ten cup finals!Well they are near the top of the league so they won't be bad will they and the likes of Ipswich in particular have spent a fortune. Yet we've been above these teams pretty much the entire season and for some reason it seems harder for people, including our own fans on here, to accept that we may actually be better. They'd rather drool over teams that are behind us in the table. Its a bit weird tbh. I'm loving our season.
One of them might catch us if we seriously take our eye off the ball, looking like Boro if anyone, but every time any of them drop points its a hammer blow to them.
I think hes one of the most overrated players in the league. And thats nothing against him, hes a decent championship midfielder. Its on Sky, who everytime he plays would have you believe hes prime Paul Scholes. Decent player, MASSIVELY overrated and overhyped. I dont doubt he will one day play in the PL. But hes not as good as sky make him out to beHackney has 4 goals and 7 assists. Hardly tearing up the league
Yesterday convinced me. Tricky-ish away game, couple of important injuries from nowhere, batshit red card. Yet, everyone stood up to be counted. There's a winners mentality there atm.Again, don’t disagree. Not a contradiction to say our rivals are good teams and we’re better. Ultimately the table will decide that. He's a centre mid... Grimes has 0 and 2 lolHackney has 4 goals and 7 assists. Hardly tearing up the league

In the sense you mean, all clubs are as pointless as each other.QPR are a pointless club
Torp has 7 and 5He's a centre mid... Grimes has 0 and 2 lol
Personally I would prefer a draw. Don’t want them getting on one of those winning runs. Wish the chasing pack just draw their matches while we keep our winning streak going.
Fans can be childish about "borolona" and their manager etc but for me fact remains they the best team I seen this season and are a threat to us winning the league
Let's deal with Preston and hope someone does a favour for us against them. They can't afford many more dropped pts

They only had hellberg for reverse fixture didn't they? We won but they looked v good to meBest team you’ve seen this season!?
7-3 over two games, HeLLbALl
Reason why I’d be disappointed if we don’t win the league.
"Hearts won't keep up the title race"they were shite against us
clueless as usual
If 88 ends up not being enough for us that means two of Middlesbrough, Ipswich or Millwall will reach at least 89.Nobody is drooling over anyone are they? I've just seen a few people say how impressive Boro are and that they're a good side, because they are.
We've been the best side in the league to this point, that's clear, but there is still 21% of the season left to go.
I'm not at all convinced 88 points will be enough. All this talk of reaching this arbitrary points tally all seems a bit odd, nobody has a clue what it will be
Our form is encouraging, I'm confident, our cushion is significant, but a late season wobble is absolutely a possibility. Some way to go yet, even if the odds are massively in our favour. No harm in keeping our feet on the ground in the meantime.
I'm not just on about Boro, but yes plenty of people on here absolutely flap it every time a team puts a few wins together, its been going on all season. Seems a lot harder for some people to say we've been good.Nobody is drooling over anyone are they? Not sure anyone can argue with this tbh. Spot onNobody is drooling over anyone are they? I've just seen a few people say how impressive Boro are and that they're a good side, because they are.

I think what feret is saying is different. It's not bedwetting. Just sensible.I'm not just on about Boro, but yes plenty of people on here absolutely flap it every time a team puts a few wins together, its been going on all season. Seems a lot harder for some people to say we've been good.
We're in the driving seat and should be confident.
Then I'm not talking about him so theres no discussion really.I think what feret is saying is different. It's not bedwetting. Just sensible.
And both Grimes and Hackney are better than himTorp has 7 and 5
Cba to read all that but you have to fancy Boro over Ipswich right now. Even if they beat you at Portman Chode, their fixtures look pretty rough.Well obviously I'm pleased with that tonight.
It was a dominant performance from us, even if we didn't control the game from start to finish, there was a period early in the second half where it was far more open than we'd have liked it to be.
As for the first goal, VAR would probably have put a different slant on it as the ball seemed to hit Strelec's hip, but also make contact with his elbow on the way over the line. Accidental obviously, arm tucked in tight to his body but the rules of the game state it wouldn't have stood for that alone.
However... the reason he couldn't twist his body (and arm therefore)out of the way is because the QPR lad had a hold of him, stopping him from doing anything. As a result of this with VAR either the goal would have stood or at the very least would have picked up the offence in that instance, penalty to Boro.
Regarding Hackney and Whittaker supposedly being so awesome, Hackney I'd agree on. Though he wasn't our Motm tonight for me, Morris was. That's open to opinion of course. Whittaker is overhyped though, for the simple fact he's a confidence player in the main and often tries to attempt something sublime when the simple will do, so his decision making is off. When it works he looks the nuts, but when it doesn't or his confidence is less, he flatters to deceive. Most of our fans thought he was actually closer to being our weakest player this evening.
It looks as it stands like our two head to heads are practically the difference between our seasons. No big surprise there, they're called 6 pointers for a reason and whilst we were actually decent in them despite making the odd mistake, they were your best performing 2 games of the season, executed at the perfect time.
Our result tonight is great for us, but it's my inkling will make little difference to your season, the same way as from here on in, your results will make little difference to ours. You're going up regardless and deserve to.
Torp has 7 and 4He's a centre mid... Grimes has 0 and 2 lol
Other than points on the board, ours (and Millwall's) advantage over Ipswich is the nature of the fixtures. They have more away games than home by a decent chunk, so will have to address that, plus the pile up continues with their Saints game getting moved due to Saints' Cup run too, meaning it's getting more likely that they'll have one plopped in the open midweek, right before they play us. The advantages they have are that both their head to heads are at home (and of course the eternal game in hand)Cba to read all that but you have to fancy Boro over Ipswich right now. Millwall have a better ratio of Homes and aways than Ipswich, but not as good as ours. Their major disadvantages are they play a game less than Ipswich, have BOTH their head to heads away from the den amd are the only one of us NOT to play Sheff Wed.
However, like a lot of posters on here I can still see a few scenarios in which we could fu(k it up. Experience dies hard after all. We also have a Hoodoo game remaining against Bristol City (yeah, I know you lot are sceptical about THOSE) which I fully anticipate points getting dropped in! one of the main reasons I've been probably one of the most rational about your chances, even stating I didn't see your not going up during THAT run you had over winter is that I can look at your side's merits objectively, due to being less emotionally invested. I can't say that about my own team's chances though, it doesn't work like that!
Shite, I've given you another great big wall of text again! Sorry about that.![]()
I wonder if we still have members on the Sunderland forum?Half this forum when a non cov fan posts

I scanned through itI'm starting to feel like its Boro over Ipswich personally, as well as us, of course.
I also have a feeling they'd fuck it in the play offs which would be hilarious.
