He was. Some are taking out frustration on him but like you said it happened. Instinct I think rather than stupidity when it comes to decision making for the red.

I think if you put any other player of ours in his position, they would have dealt with it without issue.

Unfortunately, as great as Lati has been, that is his glaring weakness. What I will say is, his team mates will know that so I largely agree with you.
