Hamer, got to be done. Tell him he can come home if he commits to sorting his lifestyle out. Pay for a personal chef even, peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

He clearly has the talent but not the discipline but with the right support that sorted. His numbers in the Prem were decent a shite side
Scenes when the personal chef we offer to fund turns out to be the bossman from Istanbul and Gus has 3 rotating spits in his kitchen.

From Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton, the players I’d be interested from each club are the following players I feel could help our team or fill gaps where we have under performers who couldn’t step up

Leicester
Fatawu obviously
Monga
Jordan James but he’s a loan

Southampton
Shea Charles
Leo Scienza
Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Ipswich
Leif Davies
Anis Mehmeti

Scienza best LW I have seen us play
Hamer class player with CCFC and Premier league experience.

Not sure there are any more I would realistically buy.

I think we will sign a few loan players from decent European clubs and be paying a chunk of their salaries, the rules for loans from other Premier League teams is very restrictive.
Probably sign a couple of seasoned premier League players as well who are out of contract in the summer.
I've no doubt our salary cap will increase too, but doubt we be paying ridiculous amounts per week.

Plenty of talent in the Scandinavian, Dutch and Belgian leagues and we've had success with that route up to now so I think that's largely how we will continue, with possibly the odd older, proven prem player thrown in.

Shape Hamer is in the pace of the PL would absolutely destroy him. Can't have someone with that unprofessional an attitude towards their diet and fitness in the PL, let alone at a club that will likely be struggling and chasing the ball a lot.

Some of the players mentioned on here are beyond us, even if we go up. Summerville for example will be on silly mpney, plus will have suitors from established PL clubs. I would consider Watford have a handful of promising players. Azeex at Millwall looks decent. Value for money is probably in Europe though.
From Sheff Utd I would look at Brooks Peck and Burrows.
Ipswich if the don’t go up I’d look at Clarke Davis and Philogene.
Leicester only consider Farawu.
Southampton don’t think I would consider anyone.
Whether I would buy any of those though would depend on getting a bargain.
The only player in the Championship I would actively go after is Imran Louza.

Peck's passing isn't great at this level, never mind for the Premier League. And Burroughs has been poor for much of this season with him only finding a bit of form recently.

So thinking about us building for next season in the premiership fingers crossed.
is there any players in the parachute teams this season ie Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich, Shef Utd who would be worth us looking at or are we better avoiding ?
I can't belive the OP is looking to take advantage of his brethren in this way.

Don’t get this thread. Signing anyone from parachute clubs is a mistake- by definition they have bags of money anyway so the players are likely to be overpaid and overpriced.

Maybe there are others in the championship worth a look- Hackney if Boro didn’t go up etc. but parachute clubs specifically I’d steer clear of.

I'd like the second coming of Didier Drogba upfront, an Argentine destroyer with great passing and a sexy Brazilian wonderkid who can play AM/F/RLC. Sort it out Doug, that's won me every major league in CM01/02 ;)

GK:
Rushworth we will absolutely try to sign and I’d imagine will cost us the best part of £20m
Dovin will be back up if his rehab goes fine
Wilson will leave

I dont think he will, last extension he was clear in that he sees himself offering more than just playing time and that it was a factor in him signing, I think he'll move into a coaching role.

Would you prefer a player with some Prem experience where you have seen how they coped there, or would you prefer a player without Prem experience and hope for the best?

Personally I would look at the clubs that spent just 1 season in the Prem and didn't go back up after relegation. They wouldn't cost as much after a year in the Championship and the club only has another season of the parachute payments.

But Prem players also become available at a decent price. The top clubs are always spending ridiculous amounts on players and the players they then sell can go to the clubs below them. Not all players are 30m+ signings.

Fatawu is massively overrated and apparently has a bad attitude. Can see us going for players we have barely heard of and one or two experienced prem players

For me, if we can sign 3 premier league proven quality players, same calibre of like xhaka, in the 3 main positions as in left centre back, left back and striker I think we will just about stay up thats in my view, anything more is a bonus.

We will need a minimum of 2 CB’s. All our existing ones will be back up at best.

Thomas and Kitching will stat

other 2 will go

Thomas will start in the hopes he can have a good year and we will be able to get £20m+ for him should we get relegated

We know we can't overspend because of keeping our future secure, but we still don't know what our budget would be even if we knew the figures because we will have to sell players to make room for the new players. We don't know who we will sell and for how much. A couple of upgrades similar like Sheaf to Onyeka for just a couple of million would be a bonus. We have players that would be in demand in the Championship that would raise a fair amount.

Nah. If they were good enough they’d have been snapped up on relegation.

AI gives me just these in the last twenty years who have stayed at a relegated club for a year or more then gone on to be successful in the PL, anyone got more?

Joao Pedro - Watford > Brighton moved age 22

Jarrod Bowen - Hull > West Ham moved age 23

Michael Carrick - West Ham > Spurs aged 23

Emiliano Buendia - Norwich > Villa aged 25

Most of those were one season in the Championship.

I think PL scouts are pretty good and it’s rare players play in the Championship and aren’t picked up if they can make it. Especially if they’re over 23.
