Grendel i get it you dont like robins .

But you have to admit the club was in a bad place , wed had many managers before him with the same owners and both times he was here he did well .

Id argue at that time no other man would have done what he did for us .. also 2 promotions has to be applauded but not just that , the way we stayed up and pushed on in the championship was admirable when we didnt have the biggest budget at the time .

He managed under very difficult circumstances too

He helped build most of this squad we have here today , built mostly from the money he made by selling players from the team he built before that .

You also have to admire his role in bringing back fans to the club and helping create a generation of new fans

His effect on the club and the city was biblical really and his role in where we are now is still there

You have to admire it , its odd not to

Well said. We were also lucky to keep him as long as we did. Im sure there mustve been interest in him over the years.

We didn’t sneak into the playoffs on the final day, we finished 3 points ahead of 8th. A draw against Morecambe was enough for both teams to secure playoffs/survival. In principle, would have been no different to us hypothetically drawing to Boro on the final day last season.
We lost 15 games that season

I don't understand why Phil Parkinson gets shade thrown at him though

You can dislike Wrexham but it's a bit dumb to say whoever manages them under Reynolds ownership must be shit

You can just say yeh I don't like Wrexham spending money but their manager has had a good career.

People above 35 shouldn't be falling for social media football fan negativity imo

As an aside, a CCFC documentary from about 2016 onwards would have been wild.
2016/17 CCFC would have made the best fly on the wall documentary ever, four managers (two of which were absolute clowns), fan toxicity, one of the most hated chairmen in the league, a dreadful squad of footballers who got embarrassingly relegated but also somehow won a trophy

We won 22, what of it? The reality is that we achieved a playoffs quite comfortably. Both times we’ve been in the Championship playoffs it was more of a close run thing going into the final day.

Compare that to last season, the final day was a winner takes all match v Boro. Morecambe that season needed a draw, so did we so both teams played out a dour draw.

Getting out of League 2 at the first time of asking is a big deal. It didn’t happen v often and we were only a handful of teams to do it over a decent time period.

Pompey, Bradford, Luton, Swindon and other bigger clubs had been sucked in for a while.

For me they have to give him another season. They stayed up last day last year so mid table would be progress and if they regress next year then whatever get rid .. the league is so challenging and really without spending tens of millions then what are you going to do overnight
Completly agree with previous post about robins

One small nitpick here tho. You say lower midtable is progress for stoke and he should stay

But if lampard for 3rd that's also progress from last year but you said he needs to go if we don't go up?

Tbf we kinda did this on weekend when you said robins has money in the bank for you. I just feel like you treat lampard a tad harsh. You can love robins and lampard, I do it every day alongside mowbray

My midweek hope is watford win and city avoid defeat

A boro defeat or draw would be great too
For me it's priorities. In this order

Ipswich drop pts
Middlesbrough drop pts
Millwall drop pts
Hull drop pts

If neither of the top 2 priorities comes in I'll be dissapoited

Played against one of his teams years ago, horrible horrible arrogant so and so.

kudos Wrexham done well, but he’s still a very limited manager for me.

A lot of their issues have also been out of his control in all fairness.

They're clearly suffering with a fair amount of injuries and they just don't have the depth to push through that. Most managers would struggle under similar circumstances.

I think he also deserves another full window.

Can't hate parkinson at all, yeah they have spent money, but they took that squad worth about £55-65m and bossed it over squads worth multiple times that.
You dont do that without being somewhat decent, Whatever we think of the Disney + limited uk soccer team.

If we finish 3rd and go up nobody cares .. if we finish 3rd and dont go up then its basically the same as any other playoff season apart from the fact weve blown a 13 point lead at the top

Weve been a playoff team twice in this league already

For what its worth i think we will go up

Yet the same squad of players showed play off form when Robins took over.

Away at the Blunts is probably about as tough as it gets for us for the remainder of the season. Anything we pick up is a bonus. If we win there i'll be buzzing. If we win there off the back of Ipshit losing at Watford, i'll wank myself into oblivion.

If that happens ipswich will be 14 behind with 14 left for them

He's limited but given the amount of funds he has available, he can more than make it work. His style isn't really all that dissimilar to Warnock's to be honest.

There's always one or two managers in this league that sets up the way and if they get it right it's pretty effective.

Remember Parkinson having a big bust up with Pressley when he was our manager after a 3-3 draw with his Bradford side

Back when Bradford fans used to argue Nakhi Wells was better than Callum Wilson  They need to hold that L like the Boro fans who thought Akpom was better than big dick Vik.
Speaking of Akpom, what a rancid signing. An obvious one season wonder. The dopey cunts should have left him to Blues.

Catching up on all the mark discourse and feels like the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

It was tight at the backend of the season from memory when we were chasing play-offs (Ponticelli brace away at Crawley comes to mind). The play-off semi vs Notts feels like a proper sliding doors moment - not sure we’d be out of league two at this point if we’d lost that. We definitely got some luck to go up that year.

Mark did an incredible job here and is a legend, however I don’t think it’s outlandish to say we got rid of him at the correct time, felt like he’d run out of ideas, lost Adi, and we looked awful for around a 6 month period. His record at championship level is middling at best as well.

Also you absolutely can hate Phil Parkinson because he’s a massive prick.
