It’s a shame it’s ended this way… (6 Viewers)

I don’t get where this outlook we were good and unlucky yesterday is coming from, I thought we were absolutely dogshit

Sloppy passing, completely static and managed to hit the target a whole five times
We did enough to win the game, it wasn't spectacular. We actually created more chances than other teams have against them including I Ipswich, just didn't put them away.

Why would he? He’s there to break up attacks and Oxford didn’t attack. Our problem yesterday was creation. The better question is why we played our defensive defenders and midfielders instead of our attacking ones.

Blimey I actually agree with you for once. 🤣

Don't think anyone has said everything's fine have they?

For me, I would be really worried if we were going with same team and formation etc.

Onyeka will hopefully give us that bit of steel and energy and ball winning ability that we have been lacking.

I do think we will have a bit of a different look and feel with him in the side
We don’t need steel and energy on its own , we need someone with the craft who can prolifically stick that round bag of wind in the onion bag.

It’s about momentum and current form and tactics isn’t it. Your glass half full stuff is admirable at times but you’re not being realistic if you can’t see we are a different outfit from the one who swept teams aside.
Yes, but momentum can swing on the smallest of things. The whole point is we are the same outfit that swept teams aside. It’s not half glass full stuff. It’s the reality of where we are although it might seem like that in amongst the chronic bed wetting over a couple of mixed results

Nearly 3 months without an away win and I think 10 points dropped from winning positions -'couple of mixed results'
If we don’t beat a beleaguered WBA away, I’ll start to really worry.

I’m optimistic we’ll beat Boro and think the performance v Oxford was good enough to win that tie 9/10. They got the result they played for from the get go and fair to play to them.

The fans are getting tetchy and some of our top players aren’t performing at their best and it’s adding up.

Im not sure any of our individuals have massively performed all season, our success hasn’t been based on individual performances and a glance at any POTS discussion will confirm that with only Rushworth really standing out as a consistent performer.

The problem has been the results have dried up and Lampard was seemingly unable to fix it. Let’s be honest since his arrival the results have been amazing but the performances have just been OK. When the results stop there’s not a lot to buffer him from fans.

Think the players and fans need a reset. think everyone though Oxford we be a convincing win and we’d be back to our early form, and as frustrating as it was we weren’t that bad, typical cov clean sheet but couldn’t score. it’s getting harder to find how we can get out of this form hopefully beating mboro does it. cant give up on them

How much rest do the players need? Over a week been Oxford and boro. A week before that

He said reset not rest 😄
They need a bit of luck as much as anything else and maybe a critical decision going for us for a change from a ref.
We have had a series of poor decisions lately.

That non sending off on Saturday was truly, head-scratchingly bizarre.

Plus we've had lots and lots of really valid penalty claims too.

just worry now that the home form has been dipping for a while aswell and that’s what led to that result Saturday. we’ve been off it for nearly 2 months. anything from boro is a bonus the real test if we’ve got anything in us will be West Brom, hopefully Asante and EMC back for that one and hopefully on the back of at least a good performance against Mboro, it’s getting harder to find something to hang on to, 5 point gap to 3rd. that’s about it

We dropped our first points at home in a long time Saturday.
Not concerned about our home form personally, its the away form that worries me, it's beyond dreadful.

I must have been in a coma as I hadn't realised it had ended. When did that happen?

Yeah, and we've only lost to parachute teams under Lampard, 1 defeat and 3 draws all season isn't something to get worked up about in my opinion, no away win for 3 months is

I think if we’d drawn to Oxford three months ago then whatever. It’s the fact it’s come after our form has gone to shit and we all saw it as a gimme before our biggest game left of the season that’s got people worried.

And yet, if we were offered this at season start not one of us would have declined...

... dunno about if we were offered it a few months later though.

We've been spoilt with the start we had at the beginning of the season and we all know the squad wasn't big enough to maintain it. 🤔

Yup.

I and many, many others kept saying, even when we were well clear and looked certain to go up, that the squad was too small. Was the one thing that made me feel we might not make it

It's been as clear as day. So frustrating.
