We have Hagi who looks so disinterested most of the time IMO lazy .His marking of player when out of possession leaves a lot to be desired as for being onside he doesn't seem to know rhe meaning. Why i don't know? As he has a good turn of speed when he decides to use it.Falls down far to easy WE don't get penalties
Simms has been in the game almost 10 years and still cannot trap a ball (let Tats give him lessons) .Cannot hold a ball up for oncoming players because of this.
This is one for the statisticians among you might help me out on . They both don't win enough headers when we are on the attack again causing them to breakdown

It’s no surprise Simms is off form and looking disinterested as when he was in form and scoring goals Lampard dropped him for that useless lazy sod wright , great man management, how not to keep a striker happy.

Never complained about Simms being off form and disinterested in the post I commented on him not being able trap and hold up a ball.

Wright hasn’t been in form for months now. It’s not working.

Played well the previous 2 home games, I thought. Showed a lot more aggression than previously. Think everyone is looking for a stick to beat individuals out of frustration. If we'd won by a couple (which we probably should have) then there wouldn't be this shed loads of posts.

I get your point and I agree on the aggression but isn’t that a basic as a striker? Hes a big lad, he should be. I don’t subscribe to comments he doesn’t care or anything but he’s there to score goals and he isn’t. If you’re not scoring, contribute, he isn’t. If you can’t contribute, hold up the ball to allow the team up, he’s not.

The problem then is, FL then swaps and changes with Simms but Simms is either not getting on or gets 10-15 minutes, it’s not enough to get in form.

I have said Lamps has to stop swapping and changing between them so in a way, I’m glad he kept with Wright yesterday in the main but we need him back to his best. How do we make that happen?

Yeah, he was looking much better wasn't he and he started off yesterday with that fabulous run and he should have bloody well scored too. Can't believe he didn't even hit the target there.

He did play well previous 2 home games, which made it 2 good performances in 3 months.

No ones looking for sticks to beat individuals, the facts about their performances are there for everyone to see and people are commenting on it.

Wright's always been a scapegoat.

It's because he's not a blood-and-thunder striker, but one who relies more on stealth.

He does seem to have confidence issues, though, and has always had periods of disappearing within himself. But accusations of laziness or being uninterested are well wide of the mark.

I think Wright seems disinterested because he's probably a disinterested boring individual in general but not a bad player now and again. Simms is interested but just not very good.

Hindsight a wonderful thing. But wonder if Wright inside left and Simms up top yesterday was the way to go as per the Robbins years - opportunity to try it with EMC out.

If only Robins would have spent the Gok and Hamer windfall money on 1 quality striker and 1 quality central defender ...
It's never been resolved. Just hope we can recover most of that money.

In times like this you need that battling clever championship striker who hustles CBs, brings others into play and is just a nuisance. We’ve got some of the loveliest flower making strikers in the league. I wish we had a Kieffer Moore or Carlton Morris type. Something completely different.

There’s the problem ‘we should have’, we didn’t though, and that is down to in part to Wright not being able to hit the target from 6-10yards out! Time and time again this happens, you can see why frustration is finally starting to set in!

Both of our strikers are shit. How we have spent this long on top of the league with poor strikers is surprising, we won't be in the top two in a few weeks DK should of spent some cash in the window to get us over the line.

Tats is half the size of Simms and yet he shows more aggression.Watch Harland in a 50/50 challenge he very rarely loses. I wouldn't back Simms in a 60/40. I don't want our players to be "Bobby Gould's" but I do want them to show a bit more intent. It's only hard work that will get us out of this decline.

Haji was ok yesterday..what planet you on. He did most things Wright and it just didnt go for him yesterday.

Not blaming him yesterday. All strikers miss goals. Gyokores misses some sitters and still does..it happens.

A goal shoukd have come from other means...hes not only player on pitch who could have scored.

Our strikers are generally fine. Both have areas that could be improved but in the championship they are both ok. Our goals score column suggests that end of the pitch is not really the issue

Our 2 'strikers' struggle to score against average/poor teams so if we should happen to fluff promotion somehow they wouldn't have a chance against prem defenders

Simms is your scapegoat. It is bizarre. If I could choose any players. I wouldn't pick him, or Wright. However Simms has scored 10, in 13. Wright 2 in 17 or 18. This is on Frank. Drop in form player.

That's was utterly baffling not to bring Simms on in the play off games.

Not saying he shouldn't have brought Simms on at some point but I'm guessing in respect of the 2nd leg FL had penalties in the back of his mind, and would have seen Wright as a better option in that scenario than Simms.

In retrospect though when Eccles was forced off right at the end when we were facing that last minute corner, it might have been a better idea to bring on Simms rather than Allen.
