I’ve not exaggerated anything, it’s a statement of fact. We’ve devoted significant resources to the players listed above - Onyeka won’t even play until mid-February now for some reason.

Our fans have howled for a different position every week depending on who played badly last game, and we’ve gone on to make several signings without any improvement or even any changes. The consistent factor is Lampard’s use of the squad and his tactical inflexibility.
Why won't Onyeka play til mid Feb? He was on the bench yesterday.

'He won't play until mid February for some reason'

The reason being he signed on the 31st Jan, was on the bench yesterday, and our next game is, mid February!
It's not like he hasn't been used for 4 games!

Unbeaten in 1, 😂keep the faith lads, EMC and asante play we probably win that and as much as a hard watch yesterday was looks likel the fans aren’t up for it either, took a gamble resting players for mboro and it didnt work, it’ll be typical us to go and beat boro
Asante is still out for the Boro game isn't he?

If we lose to Middlesbrough it’s over imo. If we can get a win then I would be hopeful of us getting some confidence from it and getting over the line.

We’ve been shit for getting on three months, the fact the fans are only just starting to turn is not something to beat them over the head with. Fans always have and always will follow what’s on the pitch. Blaming them is always an excuse.

Has to be a must not lose, but we need to start picking up wins again from somewhere don't we.

No games for Hull or Ipswich next week, so it's a good opportunity to pull clear a bit further if we were to pick up 4 points from the next 3 games

Yes we should have addressed the issues in the first week of the transfer window and we could have another 6-9 points, glad you are finally seeing the error of your ways. I suspect Doug was a lot like yourself and sitting back waiting for us to start winning every week again.

Why didn’t he play yesterday?
Maybe ...as I have said a number of times, his wife is due to give birth at any time.

Quite feasible that he's been at the hospital, or been up through the night with false alarms etc. It does happen and I can speak from personal experience.

It can be all over the place just before the baby actually comes.

Just a a guess, but a very feasible one.

Why would he? He’s there to break up attacks and Oxford didn’t attack. Our problem yesterday was creation. The better question is why we played our defensive defenders and midfielders instead of our attacking ones.

The point is that just signing players in whichever position you’re annoyed with in any given week, without doing anything to address the side’s underlying tactical problems, is not a recipe for an instant turnaround. As we’ve seen the past couple of weeks.

Yeah. There are times and occasions when we, the fans, can generate the energy and atmosphere the players feed of before a game but usually that’s during a game ie with a goal etc but it’s almost always down to the players to generate it with performance

Yep. Said this already.
We need that type of player going forward but not for Oxford at home, more for away games.

I remember the briths of my two wouldn't fancy going through that again. What happened to the days where they would announce during a match Joe Blogs wife had had twins while he attended the match

I’m glad you agree with me that signing new players is less important than the tactics in that case.

but you can’t just support you’re team when they’re playing well, everyone can see we’re having a tricky spell, but there’s 14 games to go and somehow we’re still top, there was no atmosphere after 10 mins, can’t blame the players for that, it picked up a bit near the end To try and get the goal but Fans and players need to look at themselves, not good enough from both

I wanted to sign a creative midfielder tho, my issue with the Onyeka signing is he was clearly an attempt to paper over bad tactics by hoping he could stem the tide when were kamikaze and won’t do anything to fix the fact we have stopped scoring and our set pieces are crap.

No idea, and personally I'd have given him some minutes, even if it wasn't really a game for a midfielder enforcer.
But none of the points you're making give me any reason to think we shouldn't have signed Bamford.
New signings only make an impact when they’re properly integrated into the team and the tactics change accordingly. Have you seen any evidence of Lampard doing that this season?

I’d think it pretty remarkable for us to beat boro at home when we couldn’t beat Oxford. The signs are already there that the confidence has gone for fans and players. Don’t see it turning around now.

I don't think Middlesbrough are going to just put 10 men behind the ball though.

Oxford made it difficult for us to break them down. Boro should be more open.

But that still isn't a rationale not to sign a striker when his go yo man is,stinking the place out and he clearly doesn't fancy the back up option either.

There were rumours we were looking at a striker in the window wasn't there.

Not sure how serious they were.

I think if I was boro that’s exactly what I would do and hit us on the break. Tactically, we are so predictable that with their quality I’m sure that would give them the win.

Bamford has had an extremely positive impact at Sheffield United. If he'd been here and turned even, say, 2 draws into wins, we would be in a much happier place right now.
King was wrong and should have given his manager what he asked for.

For sure. Biggest game of the season now. If they’re 2 points ahead of us after there game tomorrow we have to win. If they’re not then a draw is a minimum but really you need to beat your rivals.

I just don’t know how they suddenly turn on the style.

Don't have to. Just need to grind out the win.

Fight, battle, harry and press them. Just really need to be up for it.
