There's a whole host of readons why what worked in August and September may not be working in December and January.
I agree. I think fans can start over analysing stuff and you can end up disappearing down rabbit holes. I mean results came in based on our strengths and weaknesses, but equally the oppositions strengths and weaknesse. So It quickly becomes over complicated.
The way I look at it is we stole a march and rode our luck at times early doors. While others had poor form and or were just inconsistent.
We now have had a bad run while others have picked up. Over the season so far the points accumulated is close for a number of teams.
Hopefully if we can regain our form some teams who have played catch up are now due a drop off . We know form ebbs and flows.
Concentrate on the points we have accumulated. Because leads lost or leads eroded at this stage is pretty meaningless. The table reflects points gained over the season. That is all that really counts - not the fits and starts in-between.
The only positions in the table that really matter is after the last games have been played.
