At last. Phew!

I know the Brentford fans think he can't pass but I don't think that is the end of the world.

He needs to keep reasonably close to Eccles or Grimes and just play a short, simple pass when he wins possession.
If he can't pass he will fit in perfect because none of the others can either...well not to our own players

If he signs, and it looks like he will, FL has to be brave and be prepare to change the system even at half time if it's not working. Ideally we could do with a classy CB who can come on and switch to a back 3 if needed. Yes we need the players to stand up and be counted but also Frank L needs to also. If teams are reading us and marking Grimes out the game because we are playing his normal system we need him to change it, and not for the last 10-15 minutes, we need to change it as soon as we see it.

Fingers crossed we get a CM and a LB in is as minimum. Hopefully Doug is set his alarm early with the photographer at the ready and gets on that phone working some magic.

Do you put him in for Grimes you think? Or for Eccles/Torp?
Personally I would. Not because I think Grimes is suddenly terrible, I just think fatigue has properly set in and he needs a proper rest for a few games. I'd have Onyeka slightly deeper than Eccles, with Rudoni ahead of them, but telling him not to float out to the wings. Having Torp and Grimes to come off the bench if needed aren't bad options.

I don't think FL would do that though. I think he'd drop Eccles (unfairly IMO, as I think he's been the best midfielder recently). I wouldn't mind if we tried that for a few games to see how it goes. Hopefully he'd set up the midfield with a double pivot, with Onyeka slightly deeper, and hopefully this will give Grimes a bit more space to spray passes around (although I do think Grimes is a bit more wayward recently due to tiredness and this wouldn't help with that. Then he'd play Rudoni in the 10.
