100% I'd say KKH is far better defensively and probably quicker than Milan it's really strange how sparingly he's been used. There needs to be a shake up somewhere and I'm not slagging Frank and Co. off it's fair criticism and he's been fantastic since day one but the real test is now having the coaching skills to steer us in another direction and change up the tactics instead of consistently sticking with the same formation. JDS has been immense but he needs a break too he's targeted by most opposition teams simply because of his size.

Yes I know, he started 1st Jan replacing dasilva who was on a red card ban. Played well but injured 62 minutes in. Been out until recently. He would be first pick at left back for me played on left at Preston & got player of the season.

Totally untrue. I have been saying for ages, we need to change formation away from home.Great when you are scoring 3 or 4, but that has changed and we need to make ourselves harder to beat. Woolf has done okay, when played..He had one bad game at Wrexham, when we were short of players. The whole team were dreadful that day. My posts aren't about dropping players, resting them, when playing 3 in a week. KH was Preston's player of the year, but hardly ever plays.

It's not just about the keeper's ball playing ability, it's about dictating the areas they play in to.

If a keeper is poor with his feet you might prefer to let him have the ball and force him to attempt a longer pass or just hoof it which generally benefits the defence.

So thinking about that specific game, Ipswich left their wingers very high up the pitch which kept our full backs honest and our defence stretched. Walton did indeed play long a lot but was able to wait until their attacking unit was set due to the lack of pressure. I’d imagine we won a healthy amount of first contact but, given we have been going for the invisible midfield approach, the second balls were more often than not picked up by Ipswich.

I appreciate that both plans can work - it just seems we try to do half of one and half of another. My natural preference is to press weak ball players and I’d be trying to encourage the keeper to play short knowing their ball control isn’t sound, especially given Ipswich have given up a few goals and more than a few chances this season through AAATB.

I agree Kesler-Hayden has been horrendously underused. He’s solid defensively and good going forward. A no brainer of a rotation option to keep him and MVE fresh. Or at LB where he could easily make that position his own.

I'd say he's only been used when we've been forced to use him.

It’s a real shame KKH was injured for the Stoke game. I felt he was improving and starting to look settled. It would have been a good chance for him to put a real performance in.

Very difficult, if you are not playing regularly. Preston player of the season, last yr, I believe. Just checked, he won 3 awards.

Sometimes as in all jobs, things work out, just dont for a number of reasons or just need some factor to change and then it goes well. I'd expect most people have experienced all three things.

I am reasonable confident that he will become very valuable to the Coventry side.

I'd say he's only been used when we've been forced to use him.

He is a very good player who has been kept out by MVE. When he has had a chance he has picked up knocks and injuries and has had a stop start season. He has never had the chance to really get his season going.

KKH was immense at Preston so there's a player in there but the stop start sub appearance here and there ain't good enough. I think he could be a serious weapon and he has the pace to get back. If Frank tweaked it so Milan and KKH were more reserved and held their defensive position there's no winger striker out running them it's such a simple fix. We have midfielders and wingers for a reason let them do the attacking.

Obviously I do know tactics pal and my point is teams are exposing it and it's costing us so any other coach would change tactically. You sound like a PE teacher patronising a student. The tactics did get us to the top of the league but them same tactics have seen us completely drop off because opposition coaches can see if it's turned over there's an ocean of space to exploit.

Exactly you keep doing the same things the same things happen believe it or not and now it's not working it'll continue to not work IMO and that's why there needs to be a big tactical change because it'll surprise the opposition too who's game plan will be based on what we've done all season but can see coaches are exploiting the tactics that did serve us so well. It's what coaches are paid to do and should really be setting up slightly different for every game IMO because it becomes almost robotic

I've backed DK up until now. I sincerely hope that he takes a qualified gamble in this window. This chance is one that just can't fail to be backed financially. There have to be questions asked in the eventuality that it isn't

I’ve been trying to convince myself that it’s just defensive errors costing us, the milwall game was more or less how our away games have been going but we managed to hold on, they actually had to work for their goal, the away form could quite easily turn around starting tomorrow, but it’s not working, QPR will set up to try and do what Norwich did. Why don’t we change it, give them something else to think about, we’ve got the perfect squad for a 532 away, it’s a bit more defensive but you can still get torp, Simms and wright ( who all get goals ) on at the same time, we’ll still create plenty, 4 5 1 is great when it works but you can see what happens when it doesn’t, nothing wrong with a plan b now and again ? Stick with the 451 at home it works, it’s not people knowing better it’s just seeing what’s wrong, I hope we do play what’s worked before and we batter them,

Thank the Lord people have woken up. Forum dominated by " we are top of the league"..but we haven't been good for 7/8 weeks. Leics and Millwall, lucky to win. Would I have taken this, at the start of the season? Definitely. Just need to turn it around tomorrow.

I know we only got a draw with this v Charlton ( which I’d buy now) but they only managed 1 shot on target and bloody scored ( Braus mistake ) swap allen for torp and the option of rudoni or Eccles,

So you throw away what you know to be successful all things considered like player freshness/healthiness due to a few bad results?

Your argument falls down on itself “If we do the same things the same things happen”. So we can use that argument when we’re losing and conceding but not when we’re winning and scoring 2.7 ppg avg?

Looking back at January and December, have we been figured out?
We lost 1 home game out of 5
Drew 3 out of 6 away games
The table doesnt reflect how lucky a win was or how unlucky a loss was, but we’ve conceded goals due to individual errors that have cost us points and played through the busiest part of the season with a small squad and key player absences.

Now isnt the time to throw baby out of with the bathwater and rip into a system that we have proven to work.

We’ll win tomorrow, We’ll beat Oxford at home, and We’ll beat Middlesborough at home too and everything will be rosey.
