Anyway, if we learn from this then we should be more than fine.

I would like to think we will eventually learn, because last night wasn't exactly a one off. It was like Birmingham all over again.

Standard embarrassing reaction from a lot of the people on here and Twitter whenever we lose a game.

Reality of yesterday is, it’s probably a draw overall and a silly mistake cost us. It’s going to happen to us, Boro and Ipswich over the next 3 months.

Immediately screaming about needing two new CBs and a LB whenever we lose a game does my head in. We’re top and clear of 3rd by 8 points with 17 games to go ffs.

This is getting a bit tiresome. It’s been two months of people saying “it’s not good enough” and the same faces replying “it’s only one game calm down”.

And Ipswich and Charlton and Southampton. “But but but” every time.
We were on to beat Southampton until JDS committed suicide. Charlton got lucky and we should have beaten them. Only Ipswich were better when we played at home, and even then it took them until 72 minutes to score. The scoreline away to Ipswich didnt truly reflect the performance. Still, we have only lost 5 all season

Literally “but but but”. All those things actually happened not some fantasy you’ve made up about what “should” happen though.

Wow thats an attacking line up.

Basically a front 5 if u include Torp.

Problem for me is the front 4 arnt inclined to chase back. Or help defence

We could get ripped apart. Or could be doing the taking a part.!!

Its certainly brave. In 90 mins might be calling it stupid.
Yes id call that stupid. I called it.

One positive that when Mini came on he looked lively and got behind their fullback a couple of times to make a cross

A couple of seasons ago, Jamie Allen was hospitalised after a Sheff W player planted his elbow into his jaw in the Cup Replay and the FA were not interested in any respective action - On that precedent I would actually be surprised to see any retrospective action taken but we all know the FA enforce their rules as and when they please them, so what happens is anyone's guess

The difference is that incident was seen by the referee, they awarded a freekick but wrongly didn't give a card of any colour. The BTA was missed by both the ref and the linesman, so retrospective action can be taken.

Can we learn how to hook a ball away from the goal line. 3 times now we have smashed it in to our own net
JDS trying to clear with his left foot is just pathetic in that situation. Also annoying but not really his fault that Bobby Thomas deflected their second in, I think Rushworth would have saved it otherwise.

Yeah I'm still confused why he did that and not just put it out the ground with his right foot which he could easily have done. It was him trying to use his left that put it in.

He’s horrendously one footed and his default is always to try and move onto his left - when he’s forced not to he generally is awful at using it

Still not calmed down after last nights shocking performance. Still angry at the players lack of heart and fight. Still angry with lampards gun-ho attitude away from home and his dogshit after game interviews. It surely isn't that hard to get the wingers to come back and get the midfielders to create a 5 to be more compact?? We have the pace to play on a counter when required!! This is weeks and weeks of the same shite it aint getting the bed this is facing reality ffs

I think that summed up Thomas' night tbh. Wasn't moving well all night, slow in getting back in on corners when they countered, think his first 50/50 he tried to be clever and they nearly scored from it. Really predictable in his passing, Kitching on the other hand, overdid the diags, and then because his build up was slow, wasn't finding the passes in between the midfield lines to BTA. Just really poor from those two last night, when in the main have been steady enough all season.

So I'm saying it's happened a few times unnecessarily this season. Is that OK with you?

Nice to see you've suddenly remembered who our left back is though, funny how you haven't mentioned his name for months.

Er I mentioned him last game

I know you are the founder member of the JDS preservation society but he’s a defensive car crash waiting to happen every single week. He’s never in a million years ever going to make the next level up anyway so we should have looked to addressed it.

He's been very good all season (until recently), but of course you never mention that.

He's been poor recently, but he's hardly alone there - Thomas and Kitching have been crap, even Grimes has been poor.

Nobody expects him to step up if we get promoted.

Could Esse play behind wright Rather then out wide , think he could be very effective there . To be fair he's done really well

It seems like a completely arbitrary distinction to make - either it’s serious foul play worthy of being punished in retrospect or not.

Yes I was trying to think what goal it was where it happened recently

Thomas' was almost worse in a way because he tried to run around the ball and basically stepped over it in doing so!

I have vague memories of Kitching doing one as well but might have imagined that.

MVE was having a go at him multiple times asking for more support.

You could see him saying ‘I can’t do it, I can’t take two’, as he was constantly getting overrun.

EMC gave Dasilva zero help as well.
Its probably why MVE play better making forward runs when Tats is playing instead of Es… Tats puts a lot of defensive work in as well and covers for MVE on the overlap where as Esse doesnt. MVE doesnt trust Esse to cover defensively so he sits back
