Permanent deals are always going to be harder to do in Jan. There's still a week of the window left.

Our business so far has arguably netted us 2 extra points already. I'm confident we'll get a good CM in.

When we finally see a transfer rumour and not favourite chocolates bars, kebab fillings and general one upping each other of profit and sustainability rulings.

If given the chance of Neil for £2m or going back to the bank for a loan to get a Hamer or a Louza for £10? Id be on the steps of the bank at 9am tomorrow, cap in hand, begging for another £8m.

If Hamer and Louza are available for £10 each I'd buy both of them.

🙂

I know Ben Doak is pretty much addicted to choclate with fruit and nut being right up there...

Surely this is a post that has a bit of everything for everyone.....

If one of Eccles and Torp out for any reason, we're down to Allen as the only option from the bench who I don't think you can argue is a player who can genuinely change a game.

If you set aside what each of our CMs are good at and what we might be missing e.g. creativity or the ability to recover in transition, you'd want something more than Allen on the bench.

You can't say that Torp's injury record isn't a worry so I'd be disappointed if we didn't find a way to add someone of at least Eccle's calibre this window, whatever kind of CM it is.

Edit: I'm aware Andrews exists but it's clear he's not trusted yet to get minutes in a tight game or be used to change things.

Exactly, Frank will make him a great DM if the situation requires it.
It's a fair point. He's unlikely to go walkabout and would just sit nicely in the hole there between defence and attack and keep it simple. No fancy stuff and would stick to the plan.

👍🏻

Exactly, some completely clueless suggestions on here.

The fact is, our squad is stronger now than its been all season. We recruited exactly what we needed, in fact one of the new additions has yet to make a league start!
We dont need anyone else, if Grimes misses games then Eccles can drop in there or even Rudoni can fill in and that allows BTA to play as a 10. We dont need to spend millions on a player who may or may not cover for a couple of games.

Too many championship manager players on here.
Look forward to seeing Rudoni as DM &,Tats at centre half.

It is. Noticeable that the same dickheads who said BTA couldnt cover Rudoni cant see it.

So let me break down your post as there are a few assumptions in there

1) You say IF we get promoted, we aren’t yet. We need to do what we can NOW without thinking of the summer

2) just because sunderland have deemed him not good enough, doesn’t mean he isn’t. West Ham are interested for example. Lampard may see him as a player that would work well in our system in that league

3) who is to say it will eat into a budget next season, usually a club will allocate a budget per season. If there is room to move this season then it won’t effect the next. This also ignores the money we come into should we go up

4) it also assumes that Neil would have no resale value. Should we sign him, and decide for whatever reason he isn’t good enough he isn’t gonna go on a free, yes he may go for a few million less but that’s a drop in the ocean compared to what we would gain from the signing
Sunderland have spent big and are sitting in the top 10, even if they have deemed a player not good enough for them it doesn't mean he couldn't do a job for us. Our ambitions, should we get promoted are likely to be just about survival in the first season.

he spends half his time as an attacking mid sitting out on the wing lol

Rudoni is never going to play in Grimes' position :ROFLMAO:

Sorry, I'm one of Eccles biggest fans on here, but the notion he can deputise for Grimes is fucking wild.

I’m not worried yet because I do believe we’ll add to the squad.

I do think it’s premature to call out the ownership and we should wait and see what we end up with.

I also think it’s idiotic to preemptively say that no signing is fine.

I suspect there’s going to be outward movement this week as well. Lampard alluded that it’s likely. Brau and Andrews I suspect most likely to move on loan to make room for a new LB and CM.

I think he's about our best option, the truth being we haven't really got anyone to cover Grimes.

What are our other choices? Allen or (stop laughing at the back) Lati? Don't get me wrong, I think Allen and Lati have their places in the squad but neither of them could deputise for Grimes without a noticeable drop off in quality.
