I like dumping on other clubs signings and i've not seen a lot that's impressed me this Jan so far, but i do think Mehmeti is a very good signing for Ipswich.

Ipswich after Imran Louza as well as Mehmeti

It'll never change, it is too far gone and it is hypocritical as if we go up and come back down we won't whinge at doing the same - But football is broken if clubs like Ipswich can just throw money like that about in the second tier
There was me thinking they've already assembled a mega squad and they're busy raiding clubs in January as well. Will probably come straight back down with another Championship dream team

Before we got Yang and Esse on loan I would've agreed. But his best positions in our system would be LW and CAM where we have multiple good options at the moment.
Still think it was worth it...loan players are temporary fixes....when they go back, we're short again.
We could have bought an excellent young player worth £10m for £3m...that's if he'd have wanted to come to a club top of league.

It looks like it's mostly based on a team's PPG so far this season with a few tweaks. For some team's, including us, it's been rounded down. For others, including Ipswich, it's been rounded up slightly.

And then they go back, and we buy premier league quality players in the summer.

IF we get promoted, we can (at worst) flog the now contracted player who only cost £3m to an ambitious championship club for £10m.
The assumption by some, that we're already promoted, is a bit arrogant.
Don't get me wrong, we're in a great position, but there's lots of battles ahead, and anything can happen.

Whether we're Premier League or Championship next season, we'll need a major squad overhaul anyway.

A major rebuild is happening in the summer anyway whatever the outcome

If we fail to go up this squad will have reached the end of it's cycle 2022/23 style - Milan, Wright and a few others go - Zero chance of Rushworth coming back

If we go up a fair few won't make the grade in the Prem

Tis the way football is unfortunately

Ipswich have the money from being relegated from the Prem. They will also get the same money as us again on promotion. We need to be more wise than them with what we have to spend presently. The top priority presently is promotion. Once we have a similar income we will be able to spend a few million on players for the future that won't play this season.

Wheels can come off the wagon at anytime. Injuries to key players should be expected and it is unknown how that will effect the team.
Applies to all teams. Ipswich might struggle if Clarke get a long-term injury and Philogene loses form. Same for Boro with Hackney.

Mehmeti would certainly have been a better signing than Yang.

I'll be honest I was hoping we would have a CM by now.

Well from the runblings coming out from the club we arnt looking at adding any more. Biggest oportunity for decades this club has of going back to the promised land and Dk is penny pinching compared to our rivls. This could come back to haunt him

Apart from another CM, I don’t think we need anyone else.

I think we will get someone in if possible. Cost and availability are determining factors. Doug wont change the approach and put the club at risk. Don't think our wage structure will change unless we get promoted.
All the noise coming from Lampard and Edwards is if we can get someone in we will. Buy or loan. They know where we need to strengthen.
We need to understand we have not suddenly come into a vast amount of money that means we can buy a guaranteed player to change the dynamic.
Clubs will be trying to screw us over on cost.
We need to trust the process.

Good players for low prices don't come around that often.
Imho, we should take advantage of other team's financial issues, to sweep up those bargains.
