You've got a player who's used to our system , up to the pace of the game and has strength and physicality in spades to help out at both ends and you don't think it's a gamble to bring on a young player on debut who's been with us a week
We'll agree to disagree on that one

It's 10 minutes he'd be on for - when would he come on then?

Sorry to repeat but we need someone who can come on for Grimes, that will tighten up the defence as he becomes tired, because he is knackered. If we get this Brentford lad he is able to slot into the back line to make an extra defender when the opposition are pressing.

He's not going to last a full 90 and I think he'll be more effective being on at the end of the game and playing against more fatigued players.

Having said that I'd still drop Rudoni and play Grimes, Torp, Eccles from the start.

Grimes had a shocker tonight but I refuse to believe he will play that badly for the rest of the season, nor do I expect him to be rotated in and out of the side.

Unless we get someone in who can help share the burden with him he's still going to be tired, and still make the mistakes he's made the last few matches.

Ipswich’s remaining fixtures are rough - five away games in February, then Birmingham, Southampton and Middlesbrough in April. You can see them hitting their stride and breezing through all of them (which would obviously be bad news for Boro) but you would much rather have our remaining fixtures than theirs.

I never said he'd play a full 90 minutes. But he deserves a start/70 mins ahead of Rudoni at this point.
