Spending money doesn’t necessarily mean you get a better player. I doubt we could of signed better than Esse in this window.

Trust the club to find the right player
I really doubt he was the best player available. Thats just your sky blue goggles

Well then you'd have to consider what market is like that you're selling into, clubs will try to harm us financially?

We signed Luke Woolfenden for £4m. I think we’ll be OK shipping out the dead wood.

Esse looks sharp and he competition for Sakamoto which we needed but he doesn’t strike me as the type of signing that makes that makes the difference in getting over the line.
He looks like he is a great player, he is exactly what we need to get us over the line. We needed cover and not a single player to get us over the line.

Also the Soloman loan was a summer on wasn't it? he played 39 times for Leeds that season so it must have been and summer deals are very different beasts.

The likes of Marcus Edwards and Le Fee were real signings that made the league stand up and notice.

Must have been, just what they said on the podcast. I hope you’re right and he has similar impact to Sarmiento and Kieffer Moore at Ipswich which is a more comparable situation to ours.

He was good for Milwall and shown a lot of potential hence the move to palace but it’s not like we’ve signed a proven ‘top player’ in this league, he may prove to be but we don’t know yet.

Both loanees allow us to keep the same shape without burning out EMC and Sakamoto. Esse I wouldn't be surprised to see starting ahead of Sakamoto in time.

Where it's clear to me we need a real quality addition, is in central midfield. I expect that's where any significant money will be spent.

The main plus isn't people taking over from each other as first XI players, it's that we have the ability to now to change and rest players as need without changing our shape.

People will mention the La Fee loan but that is different as not many Championship teams could get him to join and it's massively down to the fact that RLB was his manager before that he agreed to join.

It’s interesting to date that Lampard has not gone back to any of his former clubs for players he’s worked with.

I dont think he has any previous for going back for ex-players or even Chelsea products. I can only think of Ashley Cole.

Edit: Mount and Tomori

Doesn't make sense though if we've got money. That's the question I guess, do we have money to spend.

If so, I can't see us not spending.

Didn't we spend £4m last Jan and £5m the previous Jan?

Wouldn't make sense to spend money to get into/consolidate POs but not spend when we've got an even better chance of going up.
We still have spaces for loan players. If there's any quality players coming in I would guess they will be loans like the previous 2. Then, set up the squad with permanent signings at the end of the season.

My Palace mate said they will most probably sell Esse if about for what they paid for him. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of deal has already been agreed.

I hope so as its a good motivator for the player to perform.

I'm expecting Esse to start on Saturday. Esse needs game time and Sakamoto could do with a rest. He will have had a week since our last game and will have a much better idea how we play. He will have fun against the Leicester defence.

If even Wagner spots it then it must be pretty significant.
It might save them from themselves, the idiots need to stop pissing money up the wall. They simply aren't going to get promoted in the time scale that bald prick thought and FFP will brutalise them.
