Got my norwich ticket and pretty much every game I will try to get to now. Might not have the points for some or the time off work for others but really want to support this team to try and get them over the line.
Having said that money is also a factor, the credit card is taking an absolute hammering this month. There might not even be enough left to get the 1p away shirt on Saturday

Just got mine. I retired at the end of September and can make these kind of away games now. Staying over too to make it more enjoyable.

How many of them moan about the points system when they miss out for Leicester, Blues etc?
Or refer to away games as a closed shop when they quite clearly aren't?

The figures for the amount of games that get to general sale or fairly low point brackets have been put up on this forum numerous times.
It's easy to get tickets for a large number of games if people really want to.
But the reality is there are people who want the same privileges as those that put the hard yards in without doing the work.

Wait until a game that the majority of point holders such as Norwich away on a Monday night aren’t interested in so they can get a few points? Why should people who are not high point holders have to select a game such as this, a logistical nightmare on a workday because the “hard yarders” have choose not to go? That’s just not Cricket in my eyes.

Are we a big enough club to justify having ballots? There's nothing preventing you from doing a 'buy for the points' with this Norwich fixture to be clear. I don't know how many points you're on but there's been a fair number of games even this season where we on the relatively low 1200-1300 could have got tickets to increase our total. We just don't do so if we're not actually planning on going.

Considering our Carrow Road record, I wonder how will they score their winning or equalising goal near the end of the game? A Lati tumble as a forward brushes past him, or maybe a fabulous Kitch charge leaving us wide open at the back or even an MVE back pass.

I was there for the Lati calamity (though he was fouled) and for the Kitch red card at Norwich. I will be there on the coming Monday (and will be happy to see no Sargent in their line up!). Don't agree with holding back 20% of tickets for lottery. People would then whinge about that ( my kid's got one, but no-one to take him, 'cos I was unsuccessful etc etc etc) The system is fair ( and was gutted I missed out for Wrexham, but that's life)

So people who don't put the hard yards in should hsve given parity when it comes to ticket distribution?
And they don't have to select games such as this, there's plenty of games they could attend to build points, but some only want to know when it's blues or Leicester.
And I'm generally in the top bracket, couple of games I haven't been, I accumulated those points by using up holidays to go to Burnley and the likes midweek.
I probably won't do anymore midweek away this season, so if people want to get the same right to tickets as me there's an opportunity to make up ground.

I had similar opinions to you. I wanted to go to as many games as I could.
My points have been built up over the past 3 years. Midweek mainly.
I’m thinking that I absolutely deserve to be ahead of those who don’t travel.
In years gone by I didn’t bother due to work, family and money being tight.
This season league games points needed to get a ticket this season
General sale. Norwich, Preston, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall (All weekday games)
500 pts Middlesborough. Mid-week.
1000 Plus. Southampton.
1100 Plus. Charlton
1400 pts or more. Leicester, Birmingham, Ipswich, Stoke, Wrexham, Oxford, Derby.

I would absolutely love that.
I would happily miss going to a low points game having been home and away for a very long time just so that someone who fancies a day out can get a selfie with his mates and spend the second half in the bar.
For what its worth, I will be at Norwich along with the ‘usual faces’ or ‘super point brigade’ who probably only amount to 6-700 in reality.
The real answer to getting access to every game is to put the effort and hard yards in.

If that 6-700 becomes 16-1700 we probably need to look at doing something different, until then, it's fine as it is.
Mid-week away games don't bother me. I get 28 days holiday and this season I will only lose 2 days following City. I guess not everyone's boss will let them work lunch to finish at 4pm but most companies are flexible and everyone in our group does. A team top of the league should be selling out a 2K allocation and i still reckon we will especially if we beat Leicester & Millwall.

you answered the question, yes you have to go to Norwich to make sacrifice. Did I want to go to Burnley away last year on a Tuesday with no manager, no, was it a logistical nightmare, yes. However did it to
Move up ladder and enable the lower allocation/big games.
the points system is pretty fair on whole. Loyalty is rewarded.

It only ever fails when people sell the tickets on and bank the points. Or someone bypasses the system by knowing a friend of a friend.

Exactly how it is for me.
I get to go a few away, 5 so far this season, 6 after norwich, So I have opportunity. And 100% I see that its fair that those who have been more regular should have first dibs, next year I'll have access to even more, it rewards that loyalty.
But.. the only thing that skews it all is those that will have access to like a cup game away, and takes the seat off someone who'd go just to bag the cheap extra points. And even if not empty, buying to sell just takes away the opportunity for someone else to get that loyalty rewarded.

I've no doubt it happens but how much of an issue is it?
There's a lot of noise around the high points given for cheap cup tickets and I think we might see a stop to this though was genuinely surprised at how many fans were in attendance Saturday.

It’s a problem for the points based system if people buy tickets without any intent on going as it prevents others from going and earning points to incentive them to keep coming.
A one off where somethings happened and you can’t go isn’t a problem. Just don’t like the idea of people blocking others building points as that’s the whole point

Nothing, but also to be fair its not like its a "ccfc" issue alone, the entire sport has resellers and point hoarders.
The only thing that "could" be done to get the seats filled is "if you buy ticket away but ticket isn't used, you dont get the points and you lose access for 1 away game"
But i dont think the infrastructure is in place for something like that, nor would it stop resellers purely buying to get points with only intent to resell. It still means those buying off the resell won't get their loyalty rewarded.

You also have to factor in that becuase people in lower point bands want to go to the more attractive matches, they actively seek tickets from those who can get them but can't go/be arsed to go.
I'd guess 100-200 tickets of an average allocation are used by someone other than who bought them. I've done it many times in the past, as it was the only way for me and my lad to go to certain games,
The headline/basics of the point system is good and appears to rightly reward the loyalty and mileage. But a little deeper under the surface of it and it's rich get richer. Once we hit the PL, then anyone with less than 1500 points will not be going to any away games. How do they then earn the points?

That's when you introduce a ballot for a certain percentage of tickets.
But people suggesting we do it now when we're a million miles away from that scenario are taking the piss.
