A lot of people have been saying the same for 6 weeks, and there are stats to back it up. Its not knee jerk
He's been great for us for alot longer than 6 weeks. Like I said can say out of form. But let's not pretend he's not suited to us because he has shown he can be important cog in this team

He needs to be taken out of the firing line I think, he needs to get his head in the game because he’s overplaying and trying too hard frequently, as soon as we can we should be looking to start BTA in the 10 again as we were a different proposition, and thats when we played our best

Unbelievable how you go from hero to zero on here. Rudoni is a player of absolute quality who can be a massive differentiator in this league. A slight dip in form (shared with a few others) does not change that and he will continue to be a massive player for us.
All due respect, you dont get to where we were 13pts clear with passengers, and unfortunately we lost that gap to 6pts, because we’ve had too many passengers, Rudoni isnt the only one guilty of it, MvE is at fault for quite a few of the goals we’ve conceded in my eyes and if KKH was fit would have come in for him, Wright has also been a passenger too, same with Saka. We can’t get caught coasting or our hard work early on will all be undone, hopefully a CM signing and Torp + BTA returning will give us that boost we’ve needed

Strangely enough he's probably best suited to premiership football more than anybody here ... Grimes also with good players around him. Rudoni will find his form, he's quality

And how did we get to that position? Rudoni has been a huge part of where we are.

More likely taking off Yang and moving esse at the same time.
Bafffling really. We were well on top at the time and Rudoni was, in my opinion, showing signs of his previous good form. Once those 'early' subs were made, perhaps notwithstanding the fact that Wright was neither here nor there, we dipped significantly and they scored. I'd have kept Rudoni and Yang on, and I for one am disappointed we're not in the hat for the 4th round and a possible big tie at home. Another loss without a goal does nothing for confidence - players and fans.

Jack hasn't become a bad player over night, he is just searching for form. We currently have a few like that in the squad just hope 2 or 3 start to find form at the right time. Because when we do we can tale control of games and create plenty of chances.

Also we should not underestimate the impact BTA has on creating space for others and be a complete pest in the box. He makes our team look a completely different team going forward which will help Jack understand he doesn't need to do it all and play between the posts more.

I mean he’s not. He was out for the period we won all the games that gave us that lead.

I assume taking Rudoni off was planned to manage minutes, not a tactical decision. And Lampard might have wanted to see Esse play centrally.

Top of the league yet multiple threads on players who are apparently shit. Seems like SBT is now trying to compete with the dolts on Twitter and Facebook.

I can only put it down to Muskbots.

Unfortunately when you haven't been getting results, if the lone striker isn't scoring and the creator isn't creating they get the flack. Even if they aren't the main cause for the dip in form.

Looking at his stats comparing this season with last, he is making more progressive passes and carries per gane as well as take ons and touches in the oppostion box but obviously his assists and goals are way down as well as his tackilng and interceptions stats. This makes me think he is less aggressive but receiving the ball more which is him probably dropping deeper to receive the ball rather than winning it back. I wrote after the Birmingham game that the play for the team as a whole has slowed and we are making less long and mid-length passes to the forward players makimg our play slower and more predictable. I think this is partly down to the way he is playing in his role. BTA was making runs through the middle or the sides to receive balls but you don't really see Jack doing that. I think for teams that do not like to press that may be a way to play but do not expect to see many goals. Also is the change in his game because of how he is being told to play or he just cannot play in the way BAT does or has his injury affected him? He is a very good player but we are not seeing the best of him at the moment. Let's hope things changes starting Saturday.

We do need Torp and BTA back but I refuse to believe that Rudoni has suddenly become a bad player. I'm sure it's more to do with the injury that kept him out, his shoulder problem and/or a resulting lack of confidence.

I would be tempted to give Rudoni around an hour in the next few matches and tell him to really go for it, at a higher tempo, and then switch Esse or BTA in to the 10 role. We might be able to do that soon, because giving BTA half an hour might be best way to ease him back in the team following his injury.

Top of the league with a 6 point gap over 2nd and 8 points to third place.....
1 month ago we were 14 points clear...............
Is that getting better or worse???

We are playing really really well and have been for the last 2 months. Goals are flowing freely and we're solid at the back.................... pfffft

Well, it's better than where we were a year ago, or two, or three...I'm just enjoying the ride, despite the bumps in the road. I prefer to support the team rather than slag off anyone who happens to have a loss of form or misses a chance or misplaces a pass or makes a mistake.

And in a month's time we might be 14 clear again. Who knows? Not you. Not me.

Logic says we won't.
But we know people here are fueled by delusion. So it's all good.

Rudoni was better before the 2 stone of muscle he's put on to help protect his fucked up shoulder, it's a well known secret.

One man's abuse is another man's constructive criticism. One's man's delusion is another man's support. Top of the league, so like you say, all good.

The problem is Rudoni hasn't been a good fit for the rapid all out attack tactic Lampard adopted on the first half of the season.
Maybe the originality of that has worn off anyhows.

Context is key. Plenty of reasons to suggest our form is likely to improve now.
Yeah, why not? We suddenly haven't become a bad side and the players not good enough.

The squad was too small. It's that simple. So when players were off form, they would often still get played and then there was clearly the tiredness factor too

It's all well and good pointing at Rudoni, but MVE hasn't been great lately and neither have Wright and Sakamoto.

And we all know that if Wright and Rudoni both play well on Saturday and we win, everyone will be lauding them again. They are both very good players.

Rudi, Haji and Milan are our best 3 players when in form but the down turn has coincided with all 3 losing form.
Exactly. Just saw your post after I posted mine.

Three of our very best players and none of them at the top of their game

I think Rudoni is one of a few players who is (over)due an upturn in form that could make the difference for us over the next few weeks. No way that players like him, Wright and MVE are as average as their current performance levels might suggest. If he hits anything like the form of the end of last season then we’ll have the title wrapped up by April.

Rudoni looked sharp v Stoke, he was back to his to dribbling through the middle and was involved throughout.

I’ll be the first to state that Rudoni and Haji’s form is a headache for Lampard, but both players were in and around the action v Stoke.

Rudoni starts v Leicester for me*, Haji on the bench. Simms’ form is too strong to not start. If he gets the chances, he’ll score them at present.

*Unless if Torp is back and ready to start (which I doubt), then Eccles deserves to stay in the team.
