I know it would be very difficult and would take some bollocks to pull off but Doug should slap a 15 mill for Louza ( around that price is what it'll take) , he is absolutely quality and would be a statement signing, he'd step up to the next level as well!

People are saying they wouldn't sell but again every player has a price , 15 million for a player like him is worth it, yes it's a lot of money but this is the best chance in years of getting to the prem, if Doug takes the chance and signs him and a experienced CB he'll get his money back and much more when we are promoted

Louza has Premiership interest in this window.

The word is he wants to leave. It would be stupid not to test the situation. Even if we failed in January it might help if we went back in for him in the summer. Players like it when a club shows persistence for their signature.

Didn't he want to leave in the summer? Also I'm sure I seen Lampard having a little chat with him after the game at the CBS, trying to persuade him to join in Jan 😂

Reading some of these threads jesus!!! Bed wetters or what!!! Here's a question, was our defence a problem when we were banging the goals in? It's still the same bloody squad plus 2.. we are Coventry City not Real pissing Madrid, just enjoy it and get behind the boys!!! Would much prefer to be Coventry City than Stoke did you see their pathetic stadium today?
Surely the bedwetters are Real pissing Madrid?

I keep seeing the “bed wetters” phrase being banded about, and this may come as shock but people are entitled to be annoyed/disappointed/frustrated with some manners of our club, whether it’s transfer activity, team/individual performances or anything else.

Spot on … and fans are also allowed to call out bed wetting behaviour when it occurs !

New plan:

To incentive Louz coming to Coventry rather than Everton, inform Louz that the city received the City of Culture award 5 years ago. And, Franzos was given the following review via Google 2 years ago " Best juicy grilled peri peri chicken and juicy lamb cho[p]s"

Yes it was a problem when we were banging the goals in,. because we were giving teams too many chances. Sooner or later they will start taking them. It's more the system than the defence. It doesn't need a radical change. Just the odd tweak in certain situations.

Yes I'm enjoying it, one of the best seasons ever. In fact a lot better than many of our seasons in top flight League One and then when it became Premier League.
Oh ffs 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

Of course we’d just march in and buy Louza from promotion rivals. Renowned for throwing our money and weight around. I reckon Watford would cave immediately.
Add to this we aren’t spending £15m on anyone, it’s just not going to happen.

I'm hopeful too. We were always going to have a dip in form and we are in the middle of a tough run of fixtures. However we do need to tighten up and ensure we more often than not come away with something. I'm not worried about the defenders we have, it's the system we play that exposes them, is more the issue for me.

The way we were playing at the start of the season depended on Asante pressing from the front and torp linking everything up, wrights always been better when they’ve played, torp links up well with him and Asante takes players away and gives him more space, hoping they’ll be starting against milwall, think we’ll be back to our best then

Is Bashir Humphreys a realistic shout? Not got much game time for Burnley this season, albeit started their last 4 PL games (unsure whether this has been driven by injuries/AFCON absences). Plays LB or CB.

To be fair the city has really excelled since we were awarded the prestigious award.........

£5m players like Woolf aren’t going to cut it clearly. That’s just the level we’re at now with permanent signings.

Imagine thinking we're going to drop £15 million on a player, or that Watford would let him come here right now. He probably wouldn't even be interested if he's got Prem interest and I'd imagine he's earning more at Watford than we would currently offer.

Imagine watching Woolf this season and thinking a player for £1m more is getting in ahead of the likes of Torp Dasilva and Eccles.

I don't really understand your point? You seem to be using one individual and his price and using it to come up with an arbitrary figure to spend on a player. Grimes came in for £3.5 million last Jan and is arguably our most important player. No one in our entire squad cost more than half of the £15 million figure. It's nonsense frankly.

I don’t see us getting a first team quality player who can step up for £5m. I just don’t think that’s the pond we’re fishing in. EMC cost that, Rudi cost that a couple of years worth of inflation ago. Kitching cost that. It’s top L1 level and that would require a season or two to get used to the level.

Wright cost more than half that. Grimes was 3.5-4m and is 30 and not PL capable. In Jan. Where we are. We are not making £3m deals for starters unless Dean Austin has been holding out on us.

The best bet is to shop abroad or go for someone older, perhaps a current Prem squad player. There is little value here for a club like ours. It's one thing I have no issue being proven wrong on but I don't see it, especially in Jan.

I'm not really expecting Wilson to come here but with what he said about wanting to come back one day, if he joined one of our promotion rivals to actively try and stop us going up, he'd go pretty high on my list of cunts.
I don't think he'd go anywhere else in the Championship, but he's more likely to go abroad for one last big pay day. Half a season here wouldn't prevent him from said payday in the summer though.

Take your home town club up, then piss off to Saudi or the US for some easy money. It's the only logical choice.

Ridiculous - so he'd join another club then just down tools because he realises it might hinder our promotion? Get a grip
