He receiv

He received some critism ,it happens sometimes look at the back pass that gave us the the 3-2 win over Oxford in the same season

Yes, of course it happens. Players make mistakes. Like Brau on Thursday.

And, I imagine, other players will make one before the end of the season.

Haji wright being a flat track bully too is a weird one ..

Almost half his league goals last season were against sunderland and burnley and he also scored against boro , scored against leeds southampton and ipswich the year they went up , west brom and preston x2 , hes scored 4 v millwall i believe

Our fans just waffle shit
Well I try not to waffle shit, and I try not to be too down on any players. In the case of Wright, he’s done very little this season which is now over halfway through, and I just feel that he goes missing when the going gets tough, and there’s plenty of evidence of that.

And I would add for what it’s worth, that he could have so much power and speed, and if he finds those and harnesses them, I would be delighted….. and this is still a poor taste thread title.….

As was i. Apologies for clumsily suggesting you were pearl clutching. I was actually thinking about those around me on Thursday. Like the guy behind me slagging him off all game, and I mean ALL game, only to moan that Haji was being "disrespectful" for not acknowledging the fans. TBH, I may have thought the same if I'd not heard what he and some others were doing during the warmup.

Edit: Also heard him say that Wright was one of the worst players he'd ever seen in a City shirt. That's the kind of fan Wright is up against, so there is maybe some context for his lack of acknowledgement.

And I shall leave it there.

Having read this post I think you're conflating arseholes slagging him during a game with people expressing genuine criticism in here.

But like you, I'll leave it here

I doubt haji will be applauded if he played for another club and was substituted - you need to be committed to the cause 100% with no ego - like Kasey Palmer

Sakamoto runs his nuts off and is loved. Haji will never do that...but he's a good player. He needs love. It's all about arm around the shoulder stuff. If you've played footie, you'll get that.

You think Lampard hasn't put his arm around his shoulder?
He was eulogising about him and what he was going to do when he came back from the first international break. He's been dogshit ever since

Expecting strikers to be as good as Vik is only going to lead to disappointment

He’s better than Vik. He’s getting PL interest for a start

Haji had plenty of ball played to him but displayed the classic case of playdoh couldn’t be bothered waste of oxygen let alone space on a piece of grass ‘quality’ that renders me to hating this bastard as opposed to questioning his selection.
I passionately want to see him hounded out of my club.
PASSIONATELY.
Oh and boy can he find the side netting!
Absolutely c**t!
48 hrs after the event and with time for dust to settle, I have to admit I got this badly wrong.
The guy annoys the shit out of me with his demeanour and lack of goals, and anger shall we say dictated what should have been a more balanced critique of his contribution.
I cant stand by my original comment but I won't delete it, as to be fair, Haji can't erase his historical pieces of regret either.
Peace out.

Losing patience with Wright myself but am not going to write him off and call him all the names under the sun as that is just counterproductive. May need taking out of the firing line tomorrow and coming on for 20 minutes or so at the end if needed.

Yes seems obvious to me to switch back to 4231/433 and start Simms with Wright second in the pecking order for now. Could be an option to come on LW as well.

He's been unsettled for months. One of those guys that's great when the going is good, not so great when he had to dig deep, it's a shame as he has all the right attributes to make it to the top.
