Very low down the priority list but something I would like to see us add is a different profile in midfield: a pure ball winner.

Lad in Holland called Gibson Yah who is interesting. 22yo, 6’4 CDM playing his first proper season for Volendam in the Dutch top flight and his ball-winning numbers are insane. Massive project because he’s a bit dodgy on the ball but in the Prem we’re going to average like 40% possession so who cares.

For an option who is a good ball-winner but also decent on the ball: Kodai Sano. Just won his 1st Japan cap, brother of Bundesliga star Kaishu Sano. One of the best players in the Eredivisie and touted as a £10m+ player so wouldn’t be cheap.

I’d suggest he would be fairly cheap for what he would bring.
You need to accept that we are almost certainly getting promoted, and we need to adjust our transfer plans accordingly. When it comes to players like Piroe, as mentioned in numerous other threads, there's not much point in trying to build a super-Championship team. And even less point throwing money at building a super-Championship team just for this season when you already have one!

The Manneh talk seems to have gone quiet, wonder if it’s still in the pipeline?

I think this went cold in November. The club and the player’s agent have been hawking him around to try and get the most money for him. That is their right but we can’t compete financially with the Premiership clubs such as Bournemouth who are reportedly after him.

We’re being Stamenic’d again. Player ideally wants a Prem move but you have talks with the Champ team while your agent desperately tries to use that Champ deal being close to try and get a Prem side to step in and make a move to avoid “missing out”.

Manneh is all but done. His medical is to be completed soon

Piroe talented but bit of a luxury player from what I can remember, even when he was scoring goals Leeds fans never rated him. I’d look elsewhere for what he’d cost.
I wouldnt want Piroe here, but reading this it does make me think that similar could be said about Wright and some posters on here

Heeeey Yah would be a good song

I think this flu bug has opened a few eyes. Because of our 'ever-present' defence we assumed Woolfenden and Lati would not be up to the challenge that lies ahead this year so many, including myself said we needed a new CB in the window, now I am not so sure.

The squad has been under FL and his team and I think, from a distance, they have all been improving together. I have always liked Lati, he is an intelligent and well-spoken young man but I feel even he has been taken to another level by FL, therefore, I honestly don't think there is anyone out there, who is available, who is better than what we already have.

Going back to my original comments a few months ago, when I said we needed 4 or 5 signings, I now feel with an addition of a wide man and maybe a loanee who can push Rudoni, we do not need many others.

Mentioned the name a few times now, but my pick of someone in that profile would be Mamadou Sangare from Lens (although they’re currently top of Ligue 1 so may be a step too far). His first season there since moving from Austria and he’s a ball winning machine who’s also decent enough with the ball.

I named Sangare on one of my transfer wish list posts when he was still in Austria. Sadly his fee will be £20m+ now I reckon.

Where’s it been confirmed he’s back in a week or two? is that on grass or ready to play?

He didn't require an op so 6-8 weeks is pretty safe. These days a players rehab is strictly monitored and very prescriptive. One thing Mark Robins did, he grew the club on and off the pitch. Doug has accelerated that. We have quality support staff to the players, they know what they are doing.

What’s the point in signing Piroe on loan? We already have one of the league’s best strikers, a backup who just won POTM and another backup soon to return from injury who also won POTM. We only play one up front btw.
Non, but you could be talking a bit too soon yet we'll find out in the next month.

It’s obvious we won’t have endless cash. Priority one is a right winger. Then we really need a body in midfield. Piroe would be way down the list given the numbers we have in his position. Was Bassette 6 months or full season?

Would love these two current premier league players for us if we went up but it ain't ever going to happen-far far too expensive...

Jarrod Bowen
Harry Wilson

Setting aside the laughing face - the one point of minor interest here is that Harry Wilson is out of contract at the end of the season.

i’d say not even 3/4 of those are realistic.

Gomes would cost at least 35m

We will more likely sign mostly players we have never heard of from the French, Dutch, Belgian and German leagues. I would bet a lot of our premier league (should we get there) targets would have already been scouted thoroughly
