Not sure what triggered Lampard’s reaction at the end, any idea? Disagreed with some of the praise on here - winding up the Saints players and running off and relying on his coaching staff and players to step in makes Frank look like a bottle job.

Lati had an excellent game considering the little amount of game time he’s had.

Did I hear a new song from the away end - this song is about you? Our fans sounded brilliant away from home again, let’s hope the home atmosphere on Boxing Day carries it on!

Soton fans were singing you’re just a shit Steven Gerrard most of second half and didn’t like it when Lampard celebrated towards them at the end.

Then Soton players (rightfully) didn’t like Lampard OTT stuff directed at the home fans.

That’s what kicked it off.

Brings us together tho and I think Lampard knows how big a point that is.

Just hope he’s not feeling the pressure and losing his head.

lol I wasn’t expecting Frank to throw a jab but I wasn’t expecting him to go winding things up, point the finger and run away like he’s scared of getting hurt. Stand up to it.

Sky insinuated words had been exchanged behind Lampard with the crowd, so why go to the North stand to give it the big one?

Lampard gets loads of shit from opposition fans, if he wants to give a bit back at the end of the game that’s fine by me. Bit silly but loved that all the team/squad were in there for each other

No, but Ipswich havent beaten Wednesday yet. Once they do it drops a 12point gap to an 11point one. Not the end of the world. Especially as we'll beat them at home and rectify that gap.

And we had a tough game today. There will be times we have on paper easy games and they have the toughies

This weekend last year we got tonked at Portsmouth with one of the most abject performances in recent years.

The difference one year one is incredible. What fight shown from the team and manager.
Was just chatting to a fellow Cov fan who is such a big Lampard sceptic ( I was too at the start). He's saying if we lose to Ipswich it's play offs only . I thought I was a pessimist lol.
Nothing wrong with a bit of seige mentality, especially when you're missing key players
Lampard is going on about a possible pen but looking at that incident I didn't think it was myself.

Very happy with today. Deny Southampton 3 points, dealt with injuries and just look like a team that rises to every challenge. If it wasn't for JDS brain fuck would gave been sitting 13 points clear tonight. Let him off though he has been great and we all gave a daft moment in us. 39 points from 24 games required I reckon

It looked a foul in real time but not seen it back.

With the gap at the top that we've created, even stopping 'top' teams from winning, is very useful...it just means they have to get more ppg until the rest of the season, to overtake us.

He falls on Hadji legs because he couldn't catch him but Hadji had already played the ball to far away so was never getting there, why am I not surprised.

A couple of replay angles make it look like pen due to defender falling on wrights leg. Sky studio all thought pen. Good enough for me. Irrelevant though now
I was very surprised he didn’t give it as he’d generally been giving very soft fouls up to then. Again, the decisions you give earlier in the game should set the standard for the ones later.

Saints fans were singing Lampard is a wanker, you could see him nodding his head to it at one point, he was clearly ticking about it

Guttsiest performance I have seen in a good while. Stood next to the home fans. Embarrassing from the adults 'supporting' the group of youths who were taunting the steward(s) filming and calling him a paedo. He / they could have pulled them at any point, but showed admirable restraint. Adults ( and kids) gave them sh@t loads of abuse ' get a proper job' ' paedo- Great example for your kids ( not). Well played the team though. Magnificent

Great result!
Given the circumstances going into the game, then the silly challenge from JDS, the fight shown by the boys today was brilliant.
You could see what JDS was trying to do, tried to nip in and intercept which he does quite well, got it wrong unfortunately.

On a positive note, thought Lati came in and did well, a little rusty at first but soon got into the game. Wolf too had a good game.
A rare outing for Brau, you can't really judge given the circumstances of the game but from what i saw his footwork is good, very fast feet and seems a tricky type player. Interested to see what he'd be like going forward. I thought he managed Fellows quite well.

EMC was having a great first half, Eccles too. I think we'd have gone on to beat them, but we'll never know.

Loved that from Lampard at the end, Doug probably won't 😂 , no doubt a fine coming for both teams.
Liked his interview too, apology letters mean nothing if things don't change and he's right to call that out.

The points haul from all those difficult away games has been brilliant.
Millwall and Preston not able to capitalise today either, added bonus.

Massive credit to the coaching staff, and not just for getting stuck in to them at the end. We were so organised with 10, clear that we've done a lot of work on that eventuality.

Also Andy Hinchcliffe is a fucking twat- 'har har Coventry haven't had any shots with 10 men, Bazunu should take his gloves off' etc. Wanker.
worst player to some how get england caps

he was bitter as he was saying no pen and the studio were like yeah it is you twat

Having a pint at the 'Southampton Christmas market' and some fake middle class bloke from Winchester telling me Frank is flukey and a horrible man'.

Glorious.

What was going through Dasilva's mind? A really shocking tackle and in a position where there was just no need. "I got the ball ref" Might have cost other players injuries too putting everything on the line for us. Unforgiveable!

Saints' manager looks like he's about to read out a statement apologising for any hurt his behaviour on Strictly Come Dancing caused to his fellow contestants, but denying any wrongdoing.
