All true but we surged ahead of them and have since fallen back.

This is important to me, as I'm sure it is to you, and I can't help worrying. I have supported the Sky Blues since I attended my first match in 1963 at the age of eight. 62 years of supporting the club takes its toll!

🤣
I'm a bit the same, sort of dreading match days but enjoying it as well. Our form has dropped a bit only due to the difficulty of our fixtures, most of them away, and illness/ injuries. I take some reassurance from our final 8 fixtures, no games are easy but we have a very favourable run in. As long as we stay within striking distance we should be ok.

The whole match day experience is quite exciting at present. Frank and Doug have certainly turned things up a notch. Go a goal down or two, play well and end up scoring 3 or more goals to win is quite stressful to begin with though

I know what you mean. It takes nervous excitement to a whole new level! 😆

I only worry because it's important to me that, after about a quarter of a century, we get back where we belong. I can see our key players leaving at the end of the season if we don't get promoted and - as my 71st birthday is in a few weeks time - I'm desperate to see us back in the Premier League before I finally shuffle off this mortal coil.

If I wasn't bothered, I wouldn't worry but I am and I do!

My main worry is and has always been though, that the squad is too thin. Seriously needs addressing in January.

That really is the issue isn't it and, to be fair to the club, they did try and get more bodies in before the summer transfer deadline closed. It's a shame Sheaf went just before the window slammed shut in our face.

Lampard has made no secret of his desire to strengthen our squad and I'm sure DK will back him as much as he can.

🤞

Biggest thing for tomorrow is how fit the players are.

I think they’ve (understandably) downplayed this sickness/virus going round the club. They are all together for several hours 5/6 days a week. It’s pretty unlikely any illness will be isolated. As we saw with Torp and then MVE.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the sub par performances are linked to players not being 100%.

All being well, we have our best players are back tomorrow and closer to 100% than they have been.

I definitely think some players will be missing tomorrow due to this flu/bug thing going round

Hope it hasn't hit us too badly and if it has, I hope Bristol have been hit worse. 🤪

Was EMC offside? I was livid at the time because Wright looked OK (for once) but I haven’t gone back to check
EMC was offside. Can’t complain. Officials were decent for once and not to win against 10 men for more than half the match was disappointing.

Not for me.
Lino flagged for everything and lots of good interventions and tackles were given to them and ref and Lino couldn’t wait to give it

What's the craic with bookings now and potential suspensions...are we past that? So those on 4 bookings can pick one up tomorrow and not receive a suspension?

"The gap" & "losing/gaining ground" to Boro/Millwall is unhelpful noise IMO

We just need to focus on winning the next game

Guess it depends on whether it was the flu or not. If it's this new flu, I wouldn't think he would have a cat in hell's chance of playing.

Or - start him and have him go around every single Ipswich player and lick them on the face to infect their whole squad, and then sub him off.

Its a 46 game season. 5 games ago we were 5 points ahead of Middlesbrough. Since then we've played Middlesbrough (2nd), Ipswich (4th) and Preston (5th) away and we're still 5 points ahead of them.
Yes and all those teams need to come to our place. We’ve only lost 3 games in 27 home games under Lampard.

In fact, all of our ‘6 pointers’ in 2026 will be at home (including Ipswich at home on the 29th). Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton, Boro, Stoke, PNE, Millwall all need to our place.
