Most of his game time has been on the left wing but while EMC and BTA are available he won't get many minutes.
How many minutes has Lati had since his recovery from injury, should we sack him off too?

How does that work when for a number of months (since Sheff W win?) BTA has been playing as a second striker for the most part with EMC on the left?

There's been several opportunities for Brau to feature at either LB or LW since then yet FL hasn't taken him up as an option.

There’s no way I’d be letting Bidwell go. Valuable experience, been a part of all our long winning runs and can be useful seeing out a lead (see the last minute headed clearance v Pompey). He’s worth keeping around

Manneh very central in a lot of these clips, looks like competition for Rudoni more than anything, although its good if he's versatile and can go wide too of course. Makes sense we are in for some mystery Championship winger too if @Jimmy87 is to be believed.

Manneh, Louza and Mehmeti would be a great window.

Mehmeti and Manneh are both wingers/AM, it’s an either or situation there.

Our recruitment will be left field I think.
Is it either or? Skybluegod seems to think Manneh is basically done and Jimmy seems certain will be signing a championship winger

We currently have zero backup at wing or AM and one player just back from a serious injury and two others who have missed time from injury cos they’re dynamic position where you get hit a lot. Well need at least two across the three positions with BTA out IMO.

Mehmeti isn’t playing on the wing this season and has mostly AM in his career.

Not to dismiss it out of hand, but the hint is so broad, it could about 30-40 players and doubt the source would describe a player who’s mostly played AM as a winger.

It’d be like an Ipswich source saying ‘we’ve enquired for a Championship winger’ and people talking about Haji Wright. Who has played LW, but is predominantly a striker. Same with Mehmeti.

I’d like us to sign if Mehmeti if he was available and everything else for deal was right. I just think Lampard probably wants a dynamic winger like EMC to fill out the squad.

To clarify, I said it’s ‘either or’ for those two players because they play on the same position.

I think we need to sign one ‘out and out’ winger and then an AM who can play out wide.

Given that we were in for Rak-Sakyi, a similar type of winger to him is what I'd expect. We could even hijack his loan next month, who knows?

We aren’t signing those players.

Manneh is the latter. I'm struggling to think of the winger if Jimmy is right and its a Championship winger as we're clearly in a position where we'd want someone of a certain quality but we obviously can't afford Fatawu, Monga or Philogene as a Championship club.

100% having a second winger that’s direct and takes people would help our attack a lot. It was quite interesting reading a Sakamoto interview where he said that he doesn’t take that many players and likes playing with MVE’s overlapping runs. I feel like we need another winger for competition who excels in dribbling past defenders. That could be 3 wingers who offer slightly different attributes for different scenarios in-game.

EMC is v underrated on here and was arguably our most influential attacker last week. Aside from Grimes, EMC getting injured is my biggest fear right now.

Depends what is meant by ‘Championship winger’, could it mean Dibling? Who hasn’t played for Everton yet.

@Jimmy87’s source is great at giving just enough information.

We’ll have to wait and see, we’ll surely be looking to be aggressive this window because an injury crisis looks like the only thing that could derail us at this moment in time.

Imagine if it really was Abdul Fatawu eh

I've already had this chat with Jimmy. Needs to sort himself out and give us a bit more meat with the bones.

I’d love that, how humiliating would that be for Leicester? It’ll wipe that smug smirk from Gary Lineker’s face too.

Alas, it’s just not gonna happen.

love it GIF
I really doubted we'd sign someone like Matt Grimes, but Fatawu is another stratosphere of transfer fee. However, if they got a points deduction before January and they keep losing games...loan with obligation to buy if promoted? Stranger things have happened...

Not just the transfer fee, we'd never commit to his wage until we were a Premier League club. It's a no go as things stand.

True, Grimes was a bit of a shock and it’s arguably been the best signing since Gyokeres.

Fatawu would probably cost £20m and I’m still shocked a Prem club didn’t sign him in the summer. As of right now, we’re potentially already champions elect which is a huge selling point for signings this Jan.

I don’t know why we’d sign someone in January who’d then need to be upgraded on again six months later.
Agree, i'd just stick with what we've got at LB then buy a real obvious improvement in the summer.
