Had to work hard for that but what impressed me most was the purposeful recycling of possession. Always getting out of tight spaces, creating openings and prising open a tight defence.

Another very impressive performance from Simms for me who’s in a rich vein of form and leading well from the front. Grimes narrowly MOTM ahead of him for me.
Agreed

93rd min corner at 3-1 up. Every team in the land puts 3 men in the corner and runs down as much time as possible. We see it as an opportunity to get the ball in the box and score another goal! I FUCKING LOVE IT! Its a great mentality! Long may it continue. Granted, at 2-1 its a different story and you dont want to risk giving away a counter attack. But fuck its great to watch! I fucking LOVE this football club!!!

Simms has looked dominant in the air during the last 2 games. Where has this come from? I hope he keeps his place going forward. He has improved so much.

Wright will take Mason Clarkes position when fit

Barring the opening half an hour where Charlton played well on the break, the result was never in doubt. Can’t think of a bad performance, Simms leading the line superbly again and bagging another two from ayard out.

Was concerned in the first half with the lack of cohesion between MVE and rudoni down the right with Tats being out, but as the game wore on it improved massively. Noticed a fluid rotation between Rudoni, Eccles and Torp down the right/in the middle, kept Charlton midfield guessing for large periods.

All in all, a fairly routine win and we move onto probably the hardest game so far this season. A point would be welcome, but you’d never bet against this team bagging all three! PUSB

Not sure i agree , EMC offers that physical precense that wright simply cant give us , its huge

He’s a strange player to me. As Gordon Strachan once said he’s a world beater one minute and a carpet beater the next. I just can’t figure him out.

When Wright’s back you could just as easily start him down the middle alongside Simms, as was originally intended

Most wingers want the ball in front of them and to face up to the defender and take it from there.
He seems happiest holding it up with his back to his man like an old fashioned no 9 and then seeing if he can fashion something.

Comfortable routine win after the first thirty minutes.

It’s just mental. 10 points difference from second and 12 from third. Keep waiting for us to do a Coventry but we seem to just press on.

Ipswich a big test now

106 points for Reading bout 20 years ago. 106 goals for Fulham the year Mitrovic got 40 odd goals. That's since prem league era. Not sure bout when it was called Div 2

I think 106 is the highest ever. Most of the Div 2 era it was 2 points for a win

Since I appreciate I defended the referee midweek, I want it known I think David Webb is blind for not giving the penalty on MvE in the first half.

Even from block 11 it looked a blatant penalty, and probably a red card too. Shocking decision. Same prat that refused the blatant pen and red card for Stoke at home last season too, wasn't it?
