If we do get promoted then the BBC should bring Clive back for next season. He spent years up and down the motorways going to shitty stadiums in the arse end of nowhere in the freezing cold every week.

He would deserve a year in the comfort of Premier League media hospitality!
And still saying we are playing Barnsley instead of Burnley.

I think its to do with his transfer fee and the perception that he was a waste of money. In reality that fee is looking like a snip now.
He was ridiculously dropped by Robins even though we always looked better with Thomas and Kitching even then. Binks and Lati were both accidents waiting to happen. Then we got rumours on here he was a trouble maker or some nonsense which looks even more shite as he's now vice captain and also the price as you say some hold against him.
I've always been a fan but he's another that's gone up a notch, has his clumsy moments but he's clearly a top Championship CB and I love him and Bob together.

Crucial he makes it through the Charlton game without a booking. Need him and Bobby together for Ipswich. Same with JDS and one other (forgotten). Wonder if we’re comfortable in the game whether Lampard makes changes to protect them.

He's a top drawer centre back at this level. He leads well , reads the game well , likes to move the ball quickly between the lines and can hit a great long ball when needed . Yes he can be a bit rash and drop the odd clanger but he's the first one there at any hint of trouble and has a nasty side to him which centre backs need .
Him and Thomas are brilliant as a pairing and compliment each other superbly . Both have scope for further improvement as well

I haven’t read back all the texts, but what a game he had & the “ keep going “ after 80 minutes, in the opposition box to put Thomas’s saved shot into their net & not enough at scoring, next up on our left wing , supplying Jay , to cross a beautiful ball , for Simm’s to end another great night …….
BUT , BUT ……his celebration of that goal , telling the Boro lot to Fuck Off , was superb
Kitching has come on leaps & bounds

Ive said this many times, I think the rumours about his attitude were true and that Fadz, who he became close to, had a positive influence on him.
That was just my theory, however, Overton alludes to something similar in his podcast interview

He is the man-mountain in beast mode we've needed for a long time!! got a nasty streak in him too, which is fucking great but off the pitch, a gentle giant. I love him 💙💙💙💙💙💙

I love how everyone’s essential praise of Kitching and Thomas boils down to “you’re not allowed to punch people in football but if you were they’d be really good at it”

You could argue every forum needs a Shmmeee, its good for traffic. Which reminds me, i actually saw something the other day that made me appreciate the bullshit arguments on here, look at this meeting of the minds i saw between a Birmingham and a Villa fan...

I don't think it was ridiculous.

His first season, despite some positive moments, he could be a bit of a liability.

Something clearly went on there, so who knows what would have happened without the managerial change, but I'd argue the time out of the team did him good. Sometimes it works that way.
