I still think we need to sign 1-2 wingers. Last night we were quite lucky in the sense that we could switch to a 5-2-3 or something with KKH as a WB. Otherwise, I did feel we would’ve struggled to change things up in a 4-2-3-1.

This is why we have the January transfer window and we’ll go for it. Getting the support we need win get us over the line.
2 players who can cover wing/AM/CM between them would round out the squad enough in Jan imo. A lot of the players we have now have proved to be more versatile than originally thought which has been useful.

All I’ll say is our most used substitute by some distance beyond everyone bar Simms and KKH is Jamie Allen so I think a CM has shown itself to be priority. The fact that after that it’s Brau and Andrews suggests a wide player/AM too.

I think Allen fits a niche that Lampard likes. He covers an incredible amount of distance and wins a lot of loose balls. His role in the 5-3-2 before we signed Grimes was important.

I like Allen. He's a very good player to bring on when others are tiring. He would be a starter with a lot of teams in this division.

He's very rarely let us down over the years . He is always lively and offers himself for a pass , he's weighed in with vital goals in seasons past as well .
He has bucket loads of experience at this level and seems content with his role in the squad .
We are very lucky to have Allen and Eccles as back up as both would be starters in a lot of sides in this division
