Really don’t think we were planning on spending money on both of them, when we’ve already got two centre backs that cost us good money. If one of Thomas or Kitching was injured then yeah possibly but they’ve got a great record.

My point is pretty obvious, the hype was wildly exaggerated and he was never coming. I don't believe for a second that we made "three bids" it looks like we made a firm enquiry but were told to jog on pretty early on. I very much doubt there was ever any intent to blow £10m either.
