If the EPL/EFL is looking at this season as an example of what no parachute payments would look like every season this would be that season. It’s been fantastic, brilliant not only us being the team to beat but look at the teams around the top half and playoffs knowing they have an opportunity for promotion. Parachute payments should be severely limited to non playing staff, behind the scenes employees who would be without income otherwise at least for a couple of seasons.

There is a need for parachute payments to cover player/staff wages when trying to compete in the PL.

That is only what it should be for though, to cover them so they don't go to the wall. It should only to apply to wages created in the PL, so relegated teams shouldn't be able to sign players on big wages because of PP.

The next run of games doesnt have a break. its pretty relentless until if and when we are no longer in the FA Cup. Buckle up, the squad is going to be tested

Toughest run of the season for me, 11 points but will be enough to keep us top, and still at over 2 points a game

As will other teams’ squads. It’s exciting. The last 8 years or so have been tainted by SISU. They should have bought Preston. At least they’d have had stability forced on them.

As for us. It seems like every year our players/ managers have given us something to be positive about.

Without parachute payments promoted teams would either have to take massive gambles on staying up or be completely unable to attract higher calibre players. Teams wouldn't be able to offer competitive multi year contracts without them.

Take it one game at a time. Boring yes.

Draws are killers when your at the top of the league. Draw vs challengers at the top are good of we are ahead which are good.

Basically looking ahead ..Beat Ipswich then league is sewn up 100%.

Draw to Ipswich then it's all good as we are ahead. They ain't caught up.

Lose to Ipswich. - we are still in there and all to play for. So there's zero panic.

Let's enjoy this ride.

W3 D2 L2

Ipswich and Southampton now getting their shit together and we never ever win at Deepdale

Don't disagree about "toughest run" but such is our form at the moment (great) in the last six games Ipswich have dropped 5 points behind us and Southampton are showing relegation form being a further 3 points back.

If we picked up 11 as you hope. Stoke would have to win 6 out of their 7 just to get level with us and Ipswich would have to win them all and still be a point behind us
Our run is amazing long may it continue.

Tbh Im just concentrating on the gap between us and 6th because If for some reason we don't make top 2 there isn't a team we wouldn't beat in the playoffs.

Decent argument to play weakened team depending on the draw

we will only miss the play offs if we get 38 points or less from the remaining 31 games - thats a 56 point season, and is what we got in our 1st season back in the championship with Biamou, shipley etc

And when Tyler Walker was our top scorer. If we end up doing that or worse after the start we've had I'm officially giving up on football.

our expected stats have dipped quite sharply, I posted a graph the other day.

Since Sheff Weds we've only averaged around +0.2 xGD per game, previously it was over 1.

Our early season form wasn't sustainable.
It was comparable with once a decade performances from the likes of Bolton, Man City and Fulham
We're doing fine.
And who else looks like putting a great run together? I can't see anyone personally.

Spot on,is there a better team than us in the league ( possibly Ipswich starting to come good ) are there 2 better teams, def not, that gap to 3rd is getting bigger, that’s all we need to worry about
