Mamdani wins in New York

Trump already crying about it.
The MAGA cult is having a right meltdown on Twitter, it's hilarious.

First mayor to win over a million votes since the 60s. People have spoken.

Such arse licking weirdos. You're trying to be Mayor of New York, what has Israel got to do with it?

HOW DARE YOU NOT BOW TO ISRAEL?!?!

Thats one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. What the fuck has that got to do with being mayor of NY. Might as well be grilling Ann Lucas on where she's planning to go on her next holiday.

I agree. Absolutely bizarre and great answer by Mamdani. But we also had a load of independent MPs running pretty much on purely pro Palestine/Gaza tickets in the general election….and some even winning. Not downplaying the atrocities of what’s happening over there but I’d ask WTF has that got to do with your constituency in say Blackburn or Leicester ?!

If most of your constituency see that as a bigger issue than any other, it's what you'd emphasise in your campaign.

If they see that as a bigger issue than what happens in their own constituency/country then I personally find that a bit strange. The fact that the MP will then have zero influence on what happens on that issue, makes it even stranger.

FIFA have announced a peace prize. To be announced in Washington. By Gianni Infantino. Who has recently opened an office in Trump Tower.

I wonder who is going to 'win' this?

Pathetic stuff

whoops
Gianni Infantino has been accused of a “clear violation” of the governing body’s statutes on neutrality after appearing to endorse United States president Donald Trump’s political agenda.

The BBC has been confirmed as Fake News on
The Donald. Grrrrovelling apologies incoming.

Whatever people’s view of Trump they should find this as totally unacceptable. I expect to have to take everything I read on social media and even normal media/press with a pinch of salt….everything’s an opinion piece these days, even when it should just be reporting. But the bbc ?!

‘The episode of Panorama, broadcast eight days before last year’s presidential election, appeared to show Trump urging his supporters to march with him on Washington to “fight like hell”. In fact, he said he would accompany them “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”. The “fight like hell” comment came later in his speech.’

Trump speaks enough shit not to have to make stuff up. Makes you wonder what other stuff on different subjects they might have ‘tweaked’

Colour me shocked that this is your opinion on this.

I watched Match of the day last night. All chopped and edited to provide absolutely no context to how the teams actually played. It's outrageous!

?? I’ve said numerous times I think Trump is a dangerous narcissist. I’ve also said above that he talks a lot of shit. It doesn’t mean I think everything he says/does is wrong or that our public broadcaster should be cutting his or anyone else’s speeches in this way.
Read the whole speech and tell me whether or not he was inciting an insurrection to prevent the transfer of power.

Ive seen it. It doesn’t mean you remove the words ‘peacefully and patriotically’ and alter it for ‘fight like hell’. The feel is combative anyway, the context from his perspective of not accepting the result, was embarrassing. So it was unnecessary

The point of the rally was to whip people up into a frenzy to try and prevent the transfer of power. He should be in fucking prison for it and his own attempts at manipulating the election, and I'm sorry, but squabbling over the sequence of quotes is somewhat missing the point.

We’re talking crossed purposes here. You’re talking about Trump, I’m talking about media/press. We seem to be living in a society where we aren’t just presented with quotes or facts, we’re having things tweaked or people being selective with what’s said to support their opinion. If that’s happening at our public broadcaster (as well as everywhere else) I personally think its unhealthy

Being upset with him being shown saying something he said given what happened right after is just a bit odd in my opinion
