I suspect in some ways but not others from conversations with relatives
Speaking to the 'elders' in my wider group of friends talk about the 80s as if it were the wild west and Saturdays being scenes reminiscent of 'The Warriors'... Glad I weren't around for that!

Not white! If they were white/British, it would've been announced immediately to "stop racial tensions arising" so the fact they've not announced anything yet suggests to me they're clearly middle Eastern, more than likely been given leave to stay recently.

But the same old people will come along and call me racist and say that we cant jump to conclusions.

Suspect has been named as Anthony Williams.

So yeah, you probably shouldn't jump to conclusions.

He is also being charged with an additional attempted murder charge, for a separate attack in London.

What a c**t. He's going down for a long, long time.

I expect psychiatric reports will flag up all sorts of issues, references to the devil suggest all isn't well in his head, that's for the future though, I just hope the train guard is ok and profiteering train companies are forced to rethink the removal of guards from trains as by all accounts he saved a lot of lives.

The name does not really indicate anything does it?

I haven't heard of many Middle Eastern people called Anthony, have you?

No I haven't. How about Richard Reid?

Well done on missing the point as usual.

Well I haven't - I am still struggling to see the point of your homicide graph?

Always a bit of exaggeration but while I was a bit too young and only caught the late 80's it was definitely more punchy but perhaps less stabby. Nightlife was dismal
Just the odd head kicked in in my twenties on the town, Brown girl in the ring,John someone from Stoke got done somewhere near studio 21 I think.Struggling to remember properly.

I'm 71 now but knocked about in the City Centre in the early to mid 70's... can't remember a Friday or Saturday night where a fight outside (or inside a pub) didn't happen.
I have a scar on my right forearm from a slash from a lad with a Stanley Knife during a scrap (happened in Gosford st).
One of my best mates was stabbed in the back and slashed across his back several times in Primrose Hill park after a night out at the Mercer's Arms Disco (in hospital for a couple of days),the lad that did it went on to be a member of the Specials.
Coventry was pretty rough in those days tbh, but no internet, mobile phones or forums etc....that's the biggest difference between then and now...things that happen now have always happened.
