At last! Someone who's not a formation dinosaur.
Beginning to think I was alone.
4-4-2 has had it's hey day, but it's slowly dying away, it has it's strengths, sure, but it is exploitable, best example for me, England @ major tournaments, until England scrap 4-4-2 we will remain a backward footballing nations (I wouldn't say we are 'Elite' anymore), I hope the facilities in Burton begin a turnaround, we need to play 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 (not too keen on that as much as the former 2).
Without sounding xenophobic, I think we need to do something with foreign players, last season, there were 63% foreign players (all major countries have lower than us and there's a correlation of success in major tournaments and foreigners in League) and that figure has no doubt gone up. I'm very frustrated to see Newcastle have no starting English players and have more French players than English. What I will say, however, English players are disgracefully over priced (... And overrated!) it's that out of hand here, we need a quota.
Then there's a chronic shortage of quality English managers or coaches, that, or, foreign owners look to sign exciting names, Allardici over Allardyce! (Allardyce said that himself).
British football is fucked at the moment.
