Frank needs his own thread, his leadership and experience is really rubbing off. The players and other teams and fans have so much respect for him. He's a winner 🏆

For me it’s his attitude after the wins, doesn’t get over excited, praises the players where needed but he’s already focused on the next one. Serial winner.

Remember listening to a podcast think it was Ben Foster saying he couldn’t believe the attitude of the Man U players after winning the League Cup years ago. He was absolutely buzzing to win where as players like Ferdinand, Scholes, Rooney etc were already thinking about the next game. I’d imagine the Chelsea dressing room was very similar with players like Lampard, Terry, Drogba etc.

Feel Lampard and Co has really changed the players attitude and drilled it into them that they are very capable of being up there and has given them the tactical information and freedom to go out and perform.

Long may it continue.

Got it totally wrong on him and he’s doing a fantastic squad despite not getting all his targets in the window

Also, I’m less fussed on the window stuff; we’re holding out for the right players - not just anyone / temp appointments.

Probably been most impressed, funnily enough, with his pragmatism last season. Clearly wanted to play this front-foot aggressive pressing style we’re seeing this season, but not so dogmatic to realise we weren’t physically capable of it (unlike that bloke plying his trade north of the border).

Always had Lampard pegged as someone with an open, expansive style and feared that if we made it to the PL we’d get taken to pieces. Now I’m reasonably confident he could adapt us to make a fist of staying up (again, IF we get there).

We had 19 points after 9 games in 21/22 but we were nowhere near this potent in attack

Moments like this that matter to a teacher. I've taught you humbleness

So proud of you

And myself.
please admit you were either lying about your cousin, or if it’s like an alter ego “the teacher” and “the civilian” and you post under different aliases based on if it’s a school day

Even with what looks like quite expansive football we're not giving much away anyway. I think they've done a lot of work on defensive shape

This is what I was talking about. Kill people within threads.
I'm a mass murderer in that case!

I don't troll anymore. that was the old me who used to do it alot. Laid him to rest 3 years ago or so. I like to think I'm a nice guy to most on here

Is this admission that you have buried the cousin persona!

Was the trolling the bad spelling?

60 points this calendar year from 31 games.

Almost 2 points a game, which in most seasons is enough for autos.

True though. We don’t need a new thread to show when TomRad criticised Simms for not controlling a football. Just use some funny past quotes and let people go “hell yeah, I’m a shit”.
I actually found the old thread. The geezer was getting flamed because he wanted the forum shut down 😆 also it was far from just me so I'm absolutely honoured that I was remembered. Weird stuff.

If Frank is making good players really good players and mediocre-poor players good players what would Frank do with the players he'd bring in with Prem transfer funds?
Something to think about.

Yeah, this crossed my mind. We started this season looking like we'd keep doing what we'd been doing - control the game, patiently work it fwd - but the variation we've seen in the last few games has surprised me. Really efficient, more direct, taking more risks. Bodes well. Pressing is working well.

His face at the end, why would you want to go anywhere else, he could become a absolute legend here

I can only see him leaving here if we get promoted and we're struggling.

He knows he needs a promotion on his CV before he tries at a PL club again

Well, quite. A lot of it comes from that high press and pinning the opposition in their half. We couldn’t do that last season.

I suppose my wider point is that he’s clearly demonstrating tactical flexibility. A lot of managers have a particular way of playing and if that won’t work then they’re fucked; a category that, prior to him coming here, I’d have placed him in. Clearly he’s developed as a coach/manager during his time, and I think it was telling he’s spent a lot of time with/around Thomas Frank.

Was happy with the appointment but never expected just how good he has been. Getting the best out of everyone. A team like that is priceless
