Im not overly worried that Allen is playing today. I am, however, worried that Eccles is injured AGAIN (Sheaf MkII?), Rudi is out for a few weeks, and Torp is injured with no news. We're 1 injury to Allen away from playing Andrews or changing formation away from what has given us so much profit this season. I assume it will be OK bringing on Andrews on 70 minutes today if we're 2 up.

I think luck might playintoo our hands that Blackburn, Pompe, and Watford are all strugglin, so hopefull, we can navigate those games with players missing and try and get everyone back for Blunts and Stoke in November

I mean can many teams cope with 4 injuries in midfield?

Nah haven't got any concerns over Eccles tbh.

Final prediction (assuming the game finishes) 2-0 City. Think we'll get the 2 and then just shut up shop.

I hope not. He does seem to spend 1 game in, 3 out atm though.

Do players just not have the grit of the olden days? Or are managers/backroom staff just more strict on it nowadays? I mean, I seem to remember Fadz and Doyle having painkiller injections to play through injuries in the past? Yet Sheaf or Eccles or Tats get their toe trodden on and theyre out for 3 weeks.

Its not unusual for a player to come back from a (reasonably) long term injury to get the odd niggle.
His injury cant be that bad if he had a fitness test yesterday, so I'd imagine its a case of not risking him with the international break just around the corner.
