Sheffield Wednesday "on the pitch" (2 Viewers)

Well you wouldn't think it would for a championship club with 20,000 season ticket holders.

The EFL stopped us from signing free agents after Bannan re-signed. Now we're at the point where we can't offer our academy players pro contracts.

We lost 18 players in the summer, we resigned Bannan on a tiny wage in comparison to his previous one. We have 13 recognised senior pros on minimal contracts, the rest of our squad is made up of youth players, the chairman still can't afford the wages. If Bannan hadn't resigned, it wouldn't have made a difference.
Meh.. you’re just going to have to get on with it fella.
Don’t recall much support from the owls or any other club when we were going through the shit!
Hope the real workers survive and get paid!

EFL/FA rules state: "In all cases where the Management Committee are satisfied that a Match was abandoned owing to the conduct of one Team or its Club member(s) they shall award the points for the Match to the opponent."

So a 3-0 win to us regardless of scoreline at the time

The way we’re playing don’t let other teams fans know about this or they’ll all be on the pitch to keep the score down.

Can't see the game being abandoned, there's already a massive amount apathy about an "invasion" and a lot who say they will online will not on the day when they realise they will likely get banned and fined.

If people do go on the pitch it will be brief and then the game will go on.

Like with us and the Sheffield United game, it carried on

There's a lot of apathy amongst the Wednesday fans on this "invasion". Wouldnt be suprised if nothing happens.
And its going to be pissing it down with gale force winds

Tbh this is the biggest factor for it not going ahead imo. It's like all of the riots, notice how they're always in the summer?

"yeah mate I'm with you 100%, but not in the rain that's mental"

A replay wouldn’t be too bad for us given our potential absentees.

Not so sure

It probably gets wedged in before Wrexham (a) or Ipswich (a) - the only two midweeks free this year. The congestion is already going to be very difficult to manage without adding another game

Genuinely belive it'll be similar to our "pitch invasion" against the blunts. A handful of people with a banner/flag will parade around the pitch for 10 mins. Players will go off and once cleared and off, play will resume and we'll walk away 2-0 winners

Any chance of it being called off because it's too windy?

It's horrendous mate. We've had 25 years of terrible and short sighted owners that have neglected it. Our fans had a big wake up call to the issues at Hillsborough this summer when it emerged the North Stand would have to be shut due to rust and corrosion on the roof.

Chansiri was made aware of the issue in 2021 and did sweet FA about it, other than try to fudge a survey via a Bangkok based surveyor that claimed earlier reported issues weren't there. Thankfully the city council weren't having it.
It's 26 years since my first visit to Hillsborough and I don't think a single thing bar the letters on the seats has changed since then. The LLE should really have been demolished, when you think about it, it is an absolute joke it was used in Euro 96!

Im pretty sure there's an obligation to have x amount of police otherwise the event will be deemed unsafe and wont go ahead. Whether there'll be enough to stop if it is a mass invasion is another thing.

Another concern amongst the authorities is the amount of away fans going for a game that could be abandoned
