I mean it would have been a decent result; just so happens we did better?
He thinks predicting a win is a major gotcha as he rarely gets them. Not sure why he's windmilling at people on here as if they'll be upset that we've won
Point still stands we shouldn't get cocky, pride comes before a fall, just ask those wankers at Blues.

Christ, we’re not even Alan Brazil 2025 vintage! :ROFLMAO:

Having said that, we’ve hardly been mid table fodder these past few seasons, having finished 4 times in 8th position since our return to the Championship (with this being our 9th consecutive season in this division).

Our problem this season was our early home form. Losing to Boro 3-0 sounds bad, until you realise it was only 1-0 to them by the 87th minute. Their 2nd goal was a result of our players pushing forward a bit recklessly to get the equaliser and the 3rd went in during the last minute (of 7) in injury time.

Wrexham were an awful team to play against, but two poor mistakes from our keeper gifted them the 3 points. Of course our nemesis, Kiefer Moore, who always scores against us (regardless of who he plays for) got their first and it was all downhill after that.

We were poor against a poor Watford side in the 1st half at the Den (even though we took the lead after 10 minutes) and then took the game to them in the 2nd half, riding our luck a couple of times but our stalwart defence stood firm and we finished with a 1-0 victory.

We’ve had injuries to key players since our first game of the season, when we beat Norwich City 2-1 (our first victory there since 1958) and we’ve had the likes of Doughty, Azeez and Cundle missing for us over the 7 games we’ve played so far, but it’s looking likely that Cundle will be back to play against you, and possibly Azeez as well, so that will be 2 plus points in our favour.

I think it will be a tough game for both sides. If, on the Tuesday night Stoke were somehow able to beat Boro, Bristol City were somehow able to beat Ipswich and Preston beat Hull (can’t see Wrexham beating Leicester) then you will have dropped 5 places to 7th by the time you play us the following evening.

Lose to us and you’d drop a further place to 8th and we’d be 1 point and 1 place above you. Yes, it’s a tall order for Stoke and Bristol to win (not so Preston) but it could happen. Fat Frank will be well aware of this scenario playing out, so he‘ll know the importance of a win against us will keep you in 2nd place (regardless if Stoke, Bristol, Leicester and Preston have already beaten their opponents).

My heart says a hard fought 1-0 Watford style win for us, but if we’re playing you like we did against Wrexham, my head says a 3-0 Birmingham style win for you. A draw unfortunately isn’t good enough for either of us.
It was the comprehensive win I thought we'd get, i never doubted for 1 minute we wouldn't get the win, even without mason- Clark and Rudoni. I've watched Millwall a couple of times recently, and although you have a good midfield, you are lacking a cutting edge upfront and your defence is very poor. (No offence)

Looking at the first 2 goals, BTA picked the defenders pocket, and even when he was pushed wide he crossed to Wright who was completely unmarked for a tap in.

And Wright had the freedom of London to head in his second, there wasn't even a defender in the same post code! How could you not mark the Championships top goal scorer?

The third goal came after 3 free headers in your own box ffs???
And the fourth was just a piss take.

You created enough chances to of scored 2 or 3 goals, but that only highlights where your deficiencies are. Its easy to be wise after the event, so im glad I was so bullish before kick off.
If you sort your defence out you could still have a decent season, I wish you good luck for the rest of the season, and I'd love to see you guys take points off Leicester and Brum 👍

It's ironic so far this season that both Millwall and Norwich have such a poor home record so far .

You know reflecting on last night, really impressed with how solid we were for the majority of the game.

The scoring has been there pretty much all season, but defensively last two games, we’ve really come on.

Very quick to close space, support from the wings and compact in shape. Imagine our pressing numbers are very good

We were very good last night. Millwall were in the game first half and came out battling after the break. They didn't ever really worry me though, it just felt like they wouldn't score. When we broke, especially second half, they looked terrified. With BTA on this kind of form I think he keeps his place even with EMC back. Maybe Saka will drop although he did well in moments last night. Defence were solid and keeper did well at the end. Great game, great atmosphere, excellent night all around.

I Absolutly loved the defensive work last night, much more desire to block/ get 2nd balls and die to stop ball going in. They loved it

Rushworth excellent saves late on / defensive unit so much better, think back 12 months was horrific.

Never worried about goals and fact we are scoring from all angles is just brilliant.

wright classic striker, not great game, touch heavy - bags 2 - lovely stuff.
Watch Bobby Thomas when we clear the shot that hit the post and then hit Rushworth

Very suprised at Norwich, I thought they'd be doing much better, long may their poor form last!

Millwall are struggling in both boxes, they've only scored 6 goals in 8 games, (we did that in less than 50 minutes against QPR)
and we saw last night how poor their defence was, leaving Wright unmarked for 2 goals and Simms winning 2 headers for his goal.

How often do you see a team win 3 unchallenged headers in the box?
I think Millwall will end up struggling this season.

Norwich have the early warning signs about them to be honest. Playing badly, results not much better.
Even having Sargent isn't doing much for them this time, much like the Blunts and Hamer. January bids for both when their clubs are both in relegation scraps?

What a day yesterday was. I love a London away day anyway but to do that, there, midweek - unreal. Similar to the Blues game, I don't think anyone is putting in a 10/10 performance, but everyone was a solid 8 again and we just look so efficient & hungry - massive credit to FL & his coaching team.

By the looks of how many neutrals are parsing us online, that performance has not gone unnoticed, are we the real deal ??

You may be right but I'd just wait until we play a top side,is there such a side exist?
It's going to be fun finding out.
Eerrm, there’s only one side more top than us, Middlesbrough, and we have a good record against them.
Let’s not be shy about it lads, we ARE now a top side this year. Who else can you think off as more top than us? We are the bigliest, beautifulist, bestest side now. ( channelling my Trump piss take)

Hope Torp is not too bad. May have to have 5 at the back on Saturday if he is out too. Maybe that was partly Lampard's thinking tonight with the formation change
Tactics and formations bit beyond me to be honest, but would that allow Grimes to push up more?

Great result and performance last night by players and fans. Hope for the same vs Wednesday then a chance for Torp and others to rest and get fit. Must be the first time I recall welcoming an international break!

Allows players to rest and get back to fitness, but can also spoil momentum. On balance I agree it's coming at a good time though.

One gripe about last night is that the support weren't quite in full voice. Not quite the partisan end and songs struggled to get songs going. A general issue for midweek games in London...

I honestly think it’s an acoustics issue with grounds that aren’t bowls. Stoke in particular is awful for it. Whether our end got going or not, stadiums like that always suffer imo.

In years past we would have failed to put away our chances and come away with a point last night

This team is different, this season feels different - Something very special is brewing
It does feel different, you're right. I can't remember a Cov team that fight and work as hard as this team have over a number of games
Just the way players conduct themselves (coming off the team bus, in the tunnel pre-match etc). there's an intensity there, a seriousness that I haven't seen in a Cov team before (post 87).

Atmosphere last night was great, I was in top tier side near scoreboard and singing all around us was non stop. Almost as good as Fulham away 1-3 back in 2022.

The acoustics in the bottom tier are dreadful. People gave up after a while because of it.

The new away end at Stoke has great acoustics.

Good job last night. Professional performance. 4 decent goals, good performances from most and a great 3 points after the results from Tues night.

Defo Houchen 87 vibes from Hajis 2nd. Great cross and great header. I remember when we signed him, there was a header from a highlights reel that was similar and I've been waiting for some of that and last night it happened. He's such an effective player.

And cheers to whoever suggested parking at Asda 🙌🏻

You and a few others have mentioned the similarities to the Houchen goal at Wembley in 87.

Give and go and bust a gut to get into the penalty area.

Appreciate the fact that the FA Cup final was the bigger game but that Cross from Milan was inch perfect, Haji didn't even have to dive to head it. 👏👏👏
