Yeah lamps (the poster) referred to Boro having to go to Pompey away as tough but us have winnable games when one of them is Millwall away!
A nice way of putting it 😂

It's a winnable game for Middlesbrough. Like us they're undefeated so far. But it's a long trek from the top of England to the bottom of England. In football terms we're lucky to be right in the middle. It must be about a 6 hour journey for them.

Do you really think Millwall away isn't a winnable game? They've only scored once at home this season so far. I'm more worried about the Sheffield Wednesday game. Travel to London tonight then an early kickoff in Sheffield on Saturday.

Keep playing well and the results take care of themselves. Keep doing it for midweek away games, games in shite weather on bad pitches and even as we lose games here and there, we’ll keep getting the points we need.

This league rewards consistency above anything else.

I guess we have the same problem as Boro. We got to Fratton Park in a few week’s time. Last season was their turning point. 4-1

My point isn't that we can't beat Millwall but the way you framed it is we cns beat Millwall and Pompey can beat Boro! You looking at it only with sky blues tinted glasses on.

Yes it's possible but it's not the odds on choice

Other than our journey only being half theirs yes. They have poor home form so kind of cancel each other out.

Will wait to see injury lists and more current form as a lot could happen between now and then.

Excuse me. I said IF we win both games and IF Middlesbrough don't win we go top. I have not said anywhere I think Middlesbrough will lose. I said it will be a difficult game for them and my main reason is the travelling distance. But here we go again. Instead of having a debate my words get twisted as usual.

So do you predict a Middlesbrough win having to travel about 6 hours?

So same question again as you brought it up against me. Do you think tonight's game is winnable? You've been having a go at me for saying so although I've given my reasoning.

Blues only 3 wins have come against bottom 4 teams by one goal margin in games they were not convincing.

Surely the owner who has big ambitions didn't envisage this.

The delusional Davies still I see harps on about his unbeaten record at home in his interview. When they alr3aady lost i the cup at home 1 nil to Port Vale.

When u look at their results from a performance point of view you can actually see why brummie fans are devastated.

They've signed Tommy Doyle who played previously in a promotion winning team and then in the PL, yet he can't get a game. Appears to be very little planning to their signings, almost like Man Utd were for years.

Other than Southampton comeback a perfect night of results for us

Watched Stoke Vs Boro and Stoke looked the better team. Both could be opposition for autos and whilst neither look amazing we still shouldn't underestimate the challenge of a close championship thisbseaosn
I’ll die on the hill - man for man we have the best starting 11 in this league. This year is our year

Jed Wallace did a bit on NTT20 and was saying we have Kesler Hayden on the bench h who's one of the best right backs in the league.

Woolfenden also.

And there's no bigger under rated player than Josh Eccles.

Having a go at you? You cannot be serious?

They are scenarios where we go top
There are scenarios where we fall down the table

Either could happen so let's hope we do well but not believe it's definitely gonna happen that's all I'm saying

Shef united fans still moaning that their goal was fine and never a foul on the keeper.

I agree Keepers are way over protected but thats the rules

Yep, they just signed players because they had money. Didn't matter what players they signed just that they could keep their name in the press and the pretence of "being massive" up.

Look at the things you said I had said when I hadn't. I said it won't be easy for Middlesbrough because it is about a 6 hour journey for them. You come back with me supposedly saying they will lose.

Of course nothing is certain. The Championship is one of if not the best divisions in Europe. And we're at least one of the best sides in it. Injuries and suspensions will most probably come into it but that's the same for every side.

Pompey won't be easy

Just like Millwall is unlikely to be easy for us. But you framed it as winnable

You must see the point im making?

Haji Wright does this too, winding up the opposition fans is part of it. Don't see the problem in it myself.

Yeah absolutely hate it when oppo players take the piss right in front of us. But absolutely love it the other way. Can’t have both.

So you don't think we have much of a chance of winning tonight?

Saying a game is winnable isn't saying we will win. You know that. We're playing away to a side that's only scored once at home and conceded 5. They've had several injuries. It's a good time to play them.

Maybe more of us will start to believe that we have a very good chance of promotion now. Between poor manager appointments and hardly any side having a decent transfer window the top 2 is there for the taking.

We don't have the depth that Leeds had last season but I still say we have the best side in the Championship. We have competent players on the bench. We have a very close squad with a very good manager who has been improving our players.

Our next 2 games are winnable. Middlesbrough are at Portsmouth on Saturday. Not an easy game. If we win both games and Middlesbrough don't win we go top and build a gap between us and the rest of the clubs.

Trying not to get excited but it certainly is looking like it's our turn to go up.
Im certainly getting excited. I've got a feeling in my gut that I haven't had since the L1 season. There's a feeling, an aura if you like, around the club that I've not felt since that season, too.

It's been great being the ignored underdog for the last few seasons. Nobody taking much notice of you allowing you to sneak into the play-off contention. The season we, and Boro, both made charges from the bottom 3 to play-offs. All the talk then was about how well Boro had done to come from relegation to finish in the play-offs and Sky in peticular wanked them off because of it. Whilst we did the exact same AND beat them in the league and the semis, but not a word. We were ignored. People didn't pay us any attention. And it helped us slide up the table unnoticed. All the attention was on Boro and Luton.

However, the L1 season, there wasn't a game or team I feared. Never did I think we were going to lose a game. And even after conceding, it still felt like we could and would win games. That feeling is back. I've a real good feeling about this season.

Exactly how I feel. We're not in the position we are because we've been lucky. If anything we've been unlucky. And if our defence getting its act together is going to continue we're going to be really hard to beat. We've got goalscorers all over the pitch.

Once again I have to wonder if your being serious now

It is a winnable game
Just like Pompey is winnable for Boro

We could also lose it
Just like Boro could lose to Pompey

Being optimistic for best scenario is fine in terms of hope but saying it as if it's likely is presumptuous.

As an aside, it must be pretty rare for a Championship team to start the season with a near identical squad to the one that finished the previous one. While other teams are building up tactical familiarity and bedding new signings in, we can pick up where we left off.

Interested to see how things change when other sides have caught up in that regard
