Thought I'd start a new thread.

Doesn't feel much different to me, but what did I expect, basically a service game they force us to pay full price for nowadays. Getting a bit sick of their laziness. Small things big me like Cov kits look a little wonky with the Monzo not the right proportions

I'm hoping them slowing the power curve will make it more fun to play atleast

Enjoying it so far. I've only played the authentic style and only ever will, but having it a week or so now it feels more loose in a good way (possible I also just got so used to 25 that any difference stands out), tackling seems to favour the actual person doing the tackling more, and unless they patch it out again crossing and heading feel like actual viable actions again.

Lots of little bugs and things they just can't be arsed to change considering if I've spotted them in a week a team of testers can't have missed them, be nice for an overnight patch to sort some bits out for the official release date but won't hold my breath

I played the beta and didn't notice much difference.

Will effectively be paying just for the new kits and players in seasons etc. Might just wait and get it free on game pass.

Only ever really play career mode on FC25 and from what I've seen, it looks pretty much the same apart from the "unexpected events" that were a thing in I think FIFA 2010.

If the authentic gameplay is better though, I might wait for it to be on sale at Christmas

They've ironed out a few little niggles for the better in authentic, but the big hypothetical plus is that they won't need to mess around with it to appease FUT players any more now they've got their own version to ruin.

Overall, I would say it's a massive improvement on FC 25, although I thought FC 25 was the worst FC/FIFA of all time. Not played much 1 vs 1, but played a lot of Pro Clubs.

The gameplay feels a lot more responsive, with first time passes and shots now being possible, when compared to FC 25 where your player just stares at the ball for four decades when you press pass.

Defending feels tougher, and the game punishes you for an ill-timed tackle, meaning spamming the tackle button is not a good strategy. The removing of timed shooting I think is also a plus, no longer are players hitting it top corner from 25 yards with timed finish using the outside of the foot (I can't bring myself to say "Trivela") 500 times a game.

Promising, look forward to EA ruining it with a patch in a few weeks.

How are the Cov kits and player faces this year?
Some of the faces looked pretty good in FC25, but I remember the kits looking a bit off for a few months

Faces are the same as 25 from what I can see, Brau has his actual face but they've been generous with his hairline. Home kit seems a bit too bright, like it's more a white kit with a blue tint in some games.

Shame they never bother to add the third kits for Championship teams either

Faces are just Ai generated off the newer squad photos each season. Some look better, some looked pretty much identical and some look worse. Tats hair is better this year was very Lego man last.

Sucks that if a player had a full face scan years ago they just keep using it forever. Even if they were really young or had stupid hair at that point. Grimes had a face scan done when he first joined Swansea. Looks ridiculous now, no massive beard and looks about 20. Lati is forever stuck with terrible blonde chav hair. Bobby looks ok but it's going to look bad as he ages. They should just have a clear out of old scans as the Ai stuff is passable and at least gets updates.

Not as much now he's gone and all but Kasey Palmer with short hair always bothered me with that

Shite game like the rest of them

Meanwhike konami nab exclusive licenses and do fuck all with them because they don't believe in making a real game anymore

Konami keeping some of the biggest Serie A teams to themselves and not doing anything with them is so annoying.

What they did to PES is embarrassing tbh. Just to make a crappy free to play mobile game (that probably does make money tbf)

There was some talk that a new FIFA game may actually have some legs and 2K Sports were rumoured. While it'd be nice to have an actual competitor again, I've played enough NBA 2K to know that they'd go hard for the ultimate team pokemon bollocks rather than the traditional game itself.

Well the Saudi's have just spunked 55 billion to buy EA. Can't help thinking it's going to make it a whole lot worse. I mean ethically it's a bin fire but then you add their take on football being all tacky razzle dazzle, going to be shite isn't it.

Only silver lining is they buy stuff like this to sports wash not make a profit so I guess they may invest in updating the game a bit more than EA currently do

Seen a lot of comments assuming they'll probably get the FIFA licence back now.
Can see doubling down on the microtransactions if they now need to make the borrowed money back from the purchase.

Really need some serious competition in the football game market again

Can't see why they'd bother trying to get the FIFA licence back again, other than the title there's no particular difference. I guess they don't get access to the World Cup now but it's so half-arsed when they do it's no loss.

I miss the World Cup 2010 game, nearly every national team and full qualification through to the tournament, all the menus and music appropriately African themed. That's how you do it. What I'd love is a proper old school World Cup game, play all the old tournaments

Honestly don't think they will be that arsed about generating more money. It's about soft power gains and using platforms to promote the image of Saudi Arabia away from the country that bans gays and beheads 300 people a year.

If anything they are going to chuck loads of money at licences and dev teams to polish it loads

I find so far this plays a much better game than 25 and the split in styles is a very good thing but it took me a while to build to top difficulty in 25 whereas this is what has happened on full whack in 26

This means either the game is too easy, I'm the cat's pyjamas or it's incredibly realistic and we're about to piss the league. Personally I think a mix of b) and c)
