I took a look at their forum before the game. A fair few were worried about our midfield and Sakamoto was named as a major problem. They were putting 2 or 3 players on him yet he still took the piss 😂

OK he isn't scoring goals like our other midfielders but he is being heavily marked which is giving our other players more space. At the same time he is still getting useful balls into the area.
It was very noticeable to me that when we were ready to attack down the right, MVE would run inside with their defenders tailing him and leave Saka totally unmarked to receive a long ball. Happened several times and surprised BC were dragged away every time.

It seemed at times that their plan was to put at least 2 players on each of ours that are dangerous going forward. The problem they had is most of our players are dangerous going forward so they were constantly pulled out of position.

Maybe if they concentrated more on the ball we wouldn't have kept getting to the rebounds first.

I thought Kyogo would be a great signing for them, but he’s been fucking awful. Happy to admit I was wrong
Its harsh to judge him after 7 games, however he only had 1 great season at celtic who are totally dominant every year .. championship a different league

I think we have a lot of players who are disrespected more by our own fans than anything. Seen Thomas and Kitching called mid table CBs before but they aren't are they, not by a long shot. Sakamoto too comes in for some stick on here. Stop looking at your stats sheets and watch the fucking game, there's a reason Lampard starts him all the time when fit. Saka/MVE probably the best right hand side in the league.
I'd actually like to know who people think from Birminghams incredibly expensive squad would start for us, because I'm really struggling.
I can't even be arsed to blast Simms with how it's going, he's actually looked half decent when coming on and I'm hoping a goal might spark him. Wouldn't rule it out under Lampard and co.
Is that two goal involvements in the last two games,, can't remember if he got any minutes last week, rebounds of shots he probably to score himself, adds something to the debate about the matches 10 game run last season?

I am having a prostate exam shortly before the game this weekend so do not need any more pain from a loss or bad performance. Hopefully, we get it done.
Well my ass is alright and what a victory for the boys!:D

Bit of Monday morning comedy

The sports quarter thing is a bit odd. What else are they planning to have there? They've got an international athletics stadium and an international cricket stadium, neither of which are anywhere near the sports quarter.

There's also an arena in the city centre designed for sports, again nowhere near the sports quarter, with the NEC as well you wouldn't think there's demand for a third arena in Birmingham.

What else are they going to put there that makes it a sports quarter as opposed to them building a new ground & training facilities?

At very best BCFC will become a knock off version of West Ham playing in a soulless stadium in front of a load of new tourist fans that their traditional fans all hate, whilst pining for the spit and sawdust of St Andrew’s back

At very worst it all falls flat on its face and we all get to laugh at them

So bring it on - Bigger clubs in Aston Villa, Newcastle, WHU, Everton have all tried to break the mold of the so called Big 6 and none of them have been able to sustain, so if little Birmingham City are that convinced they can do it let them crack on, cause the funnier their crash back down to earth will be

There just isn't the tourist market for anything like this outside of London or the big five, they are deluded if they believe otherwise

I think Birmingham has been trying to get ice hockey for years. It wouldn't surprise if they try to poach Coventry Blaze as they occasionally make noises about wanting a bigger arena.

I'm sure I heard something about a cricket academy, as well. And I think Wagner has already put money into T20 team.

In fairness - Weren’t the Blaze in Solihull before Coventry?

They marginalised a lot of the county when they changed the T20 to Birmingham Bears, I couldn’t give a toss about them, Birmingham doesn’t represent me, Warwickshire does - And I know plenty of people who knocked supporting them on the head when they changed it to Birmingham Bears

Knighthead are backing The Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, which most cricket fans can’t stand

Yeah Blaze came from Solihull. Which is why I think they could be less attached to Cov and open to moving.

As for the cricket, I don't follow it, I just knew they'd put money into the more razzmatazz version.

Are they going to do the same as wasps but bigger?
