Hope it's true and there is no release clause as people are saying. If we went up £25 or even £30 million would be virtually giving him away.

Rudoni would be stupid not to sign without a release clause. Although I imagine the terms would be different in the case of promotion.
Yeah that makes sense. Release clause on non-promotion, £30m. Release clause after promotion, £60m. Not a bad shout! Though even if we did get promoted, id like to see him stay and give the PL a good go with us. Wouldn't just want to sell him to make some revenue.

MVE and Wright have to be the next 2 high priority players - Wright even more so, If he continues banging them in and has a good world cup i fear his new contract may remain out of our price reach, he does have 2 years remaining after this though
If he has a season that gets him to the world cup then it's the time to sell him. Would be 28 and value at it's peak I suspect.

For a minute I thought you was talking about Rudoni in England World Cup squad!..

Just a thought how many others like him England in his position..not saying he's good enough...yet.

I don't think he'd look out of place. I believe we have at least 6 players who could easily play in the Premier League (Haji, Rudi, Torp, Grimes, MVE and Sakamoto). JDS and EMC probably too.

Maybe a new chant to go a long with his new contract. Really don't like the fact we just recycled Palmers old one.

A couple of candidates:

Zombie by The Cranberries. Burnley use it for Hannibal and it rattled me when they sang it last year:

Paparazzi by Lady Gaga (I know, I couldn't see how it would work) Newcastle use it for Jacob Murphy and it's a real earworm:

Haji, Rudi and MVE yes.

Torp - maybe if his improvement continues
Grimes - would do a job but ideally you’d replace him
Sakamoto - love him but he’s not premier league level

JDS & EMC - no

You have to remember there are many players who have absolutely dominated in the championship and then looked average at best in the prem.

If we went up the only players capable of starting are Rudi, Wright, Grimes, MvE and probably not all 4 will be starters as well.
Dovin could potentially if he comes back in the vein of form he was in prior to his injury, Tats, EMC and Torp would be good squad players. 100% 2 new CBs, a LB, CM, LW and RW would be needed for the starting 11 and potentially another GK, CM and ST to add to it, thats not even thinking about the squad players I make that 6 to 9 new starting players we’d need

Grimes would be replaced. It would be the most important position in the team to recruit for. Sunderland have done it well buying Xhaka.
