A week ago I would agree that I’m wetting the bed. But fact is we are running out of time and last night showed the massive gap between the fringe players and the starters
I think injuries made it look worse if you think about Sheaf, Eccles, Sakamoto being in the squad but yes defo still short.

There’s no doubt there’s a big gap between top players like wright and rudoni and next ones in (as we’d all expect) but a lot of the fringe players would do a far better job coming into into a settled team for a few games than just a team thrown together on the night like last night

Who would’ve thought a year ago that Rudoni would be worth £20m+, Torp would be a must pick, Dasilva being a competent LB etc. some players just need a run of games in a settled team

Having said that I do think we need a CB and think we’ll get one unless MvE stays in which case we might try and make do. Shame we haven’t seen more of Perry but presume he’s lined up for a loan to get regular minutes

He looked lost at LW but thats to be expected. At LB he was up and down the left side really well, tenacious and put in a bit of quality wiht that megs and cross. Don't think it will be long before hes starting LB
Deserves a go starting with the first team. As much as i'm not a huge fan Dasilva hasn't done too bad though. He's actually fine when we're a dominant force, he looks after the ball, gets up and down, but when asked to defend.. well we've all seen it. I think Brau will be in before too long.

With no injuries Sheaf and Eccles start in that midfield last night, Lati starts at the back we have not too bad strength in depth some of the players we had out there were like 5th or 6th choice so wont get many minutes also when playing with higher quality players will not perform as poorly, it was the unit that failed not individuals and when certain individuals were added to the unit it started working, we better pray Wright, Rudi and Torp stay injury free this season

FFS we have to lose sometimes. By the law of averages it's near impossible to go every game unbeaten and I think everyone would agree it is better to lose in the cup using our 'squad' players. Of course we have players at different levels of skill and ability, we can't expect Andrews to be a like-for-like with Rudoni, players need time and patience to adjust.

This is also what makes getting good loans in trickier. Unless they’re going to play regularly or it’s with a permanent deal attached, prem clubs probably won’t want young players coming here. Our first 11 is good and when everyone’s fit the first 2-3 changes are also. CB is the obvious gap, a couple of injuries/suspensions and there’s a problem.

Spot on …. Top loans expect to play not get 15 mins at the end of a match every other week …. It’s why you see loans getting cut short in January …. If they are not playing enough they pull the plug …

I’m choosing to believe Chilwell as my moderate dose of pre season madness.

Brau will be good for this team. Either LB or LW, he’s generally scatty for positioning anyway. Trust the coaches to coach the discipline into him.

Mental owners can do all kinds of mental things. To be clear we are still a football club renting a stadium. We’re just renting it for a very long time.

I get why people were scared but I just couldn’t see it happening. Everyone saw the fallout from last time and no one won and would want it again.

Who are we renting it from?

I mean I’d never get a mortgage on a leasehold but yeah of course. It’s just there’s a few people who have said things along the lines of “we don’t have a landlord” or “we never have to deal with the council” when this clearly isn’t true.

And to be clear it’s never been me that thinks it’s unusual for a club to lease their ground from the local authority.

We don’t have a landlord. It’s a long commercial lease and is exactly the same as freehold.

Stop peddling these lies

QPR fans loved him last year.
QPR are a mid to lower level Championship team in fairness. I know there's this thing about not listening to football fans but there is a big disparity between what i'm reading on both (Southampton and Ipswich being a similar level.) I'm just not sure what people base preferences on other than vibes at times. Edwards being one of those trendy Peterborough bunch.. personally think we were smart and got the best of them in the form of EMC.
