Have we signed him?And which of these categories was Hughes in just for clarification
Unless I'm very much mistaken my question was about who was in which list and not whether we had been successful in signing a player.Have we signed him?
Well thus far we have spent £3m, sold for £2.5m alongside releasing players. We have a net spend of next to nil.Unless I'm very much mistaken my question was about who was in which list and not whether we had been successful in signing a player.
What is your definition of cheap in monetary terms.
Answer the question. What is your definition of cheap ?Well thus far we have spent £3m, sold for £2.5m alongside releasing players. We have a net spend of next to nil.
Cheap is bidding for players well under their value just so we can say "we are going for quality"Answer the question. What is your definition of cheap ?
That's not answering the question. Let me put it again . What in monetary terms is cheap ?Cheap is bidding for players well under their value just so we can say "we are going for quality"
Cheap is relative. That's not answering the question. Let me put it again . What in monetary terms is cheap ?
Are you saying therefore that the value a club puts on a player is the metric which should be applied to determine the true value of a player ?Cheap is relative.
Loans are cheap, free's are cheap but bidding £3m for a player valued at £10m+ by his club is being cheap also.
The worst case is he is underwhelming and theyHow is it throwing money down the toilet?
Worst case scenario he costs them £5m-£8m and they sell him for £7.5m. If thats the case he's had a storming season for them and its just the equivalent of a loan.
Disney boys can spend as much as they like! You cannot buy the dressing room comeradre and spirit required to lay it all on the line to win at all costs. It will go tit's up eventuallyAll their revenue comes from ‘commercial’ deals. It’s shit as they’re a tiny club but when you have people like Reynolds and McElhenney they’re going to be attractive to US investors.
The way football has gone, unfortunately. I hate it as much as the next person. Remember being a kid in the early 00’s and my dad said money had ruined football and that was back then, even truer now.
We'd definitely have their signings over ours this summer.Disney boys can spend as much as they like! You cannot buy the dressing room comeradre and spirit required to lay it all on the line to win at all costs. It will go tit's up eventually

If it works for them then good luck to them, they've certainly given it a go.
I would most definitely have had Lewis O'Brien hereWhat signing have they made that would get in our team?
Infact- I would say they haven’t got a single player that would
I wouldn’t. And they aren’t exactly off to a flier are they. We'd definitely have their signings over ours this summer.

He’s looked good when I’ve seen him play. Good on the ball and decently quick to be able to play the high line.Is this Woolfden bloke any good or is he coming in as backup?
He’s predominantly a player who loves to defend, head the ball away etc think more like McFadz than Trevor PeakeIs this Woolfden bloke any good or is he coming in as backup?
No but we bid £6m for a championship centre half which by no measure is cheapHave we signed him?
A regular in an Ipswich team that got promoted with a huge points total, not awful on the occasions he did appear in the Prem from what i can find, experienced without being old which is ideal. But he's not the one the forum thought of and they've had a weird boner for Joe Worrall as the 'experienced' cb for some reason. Is this Woolfden bloke any good or is he coming in as backup?

Hughes is a more exciting target for sure as the potential to be more than a very good Championship CB is there but this signing would be decent enough.
Erm good question. I think you'd have to put someone like Hughes in pretty quick to justify the cost. Don't think he'd cost half as much tbf but could work his way in sure.Would he go straight int the side then?

Since DK said we were signing more 'quality' over 'quantity' this summer we have signed ZERO new players
We invested record season ticket sales- told of our 'recruitment lists'- that we'd hit the ground running with arrivals
Crystal palace's manager in the press this morning is moaning about selling Eze so close to the deadline- as he has no time to secure a replacement
Reality is we've likely failed with all our targets- and are now floundering for panic signings. It's a disgrace really
Cheers on the info guys. Sounds more like a body in the building than someone who is going to drastically improve our defence. Weird he’s come here without playing promises tho if he’s leaving Ipswich for playing time.
So you’d rather us just sign any old shit that doesn’t improve a top 6 squad for the sake of it?Since DK said we were signing more 'quality' over 'quantity' this summer we have signed ZERO new players

Nah, he’s better than you’re claiming there.

It is if his club value him at £12mNo but we bid £6m for a championship centre half which by no measure is cheap
