If that's a good game because he tapped home from on the goal line then our standards are truly in the bin.

Not really. I want all our players to do well. But people on here have deluded themselves into thinking he played well because his name ended up on the scoresheet. It must of ruined your entire weekend when he scored.

Some clownAsante played well yesterday, but unbelievably some clown only gave him 4/10 on the players ratings thread???
It just unbelievable![]()
I thought it was heading in. Great effort.Thought he was much better second half, did well for the 3rd and 5th as others have said. Also lots have overlooked his first time effort from outside the box just before Derby got their 3rd. Would’ve been some goal if that had gone in!
I never said he was wonderful, I said he played "well"Some clown![]()
. You really are not able to understand the simple fact that not everyone is allowed a different opinion to you without resorting to insults, are you? You thought Asante was wonderful. I thought he was a headless chicken who produced a couple of good moments. It isn't a difficult concept to understand.
BTA divides opinion…. If you liked Sean Flynn, Paul Telfer, Julian Darby etc you will love BTA
If you like your players to be composed when it matters BTA won’t be for you.
You need this type of player as a squad player, not starting many matches …BTA is the type that doesn't let you down, he works for the team, looks like a good squad mate and has a positive attitude. Any successful team needs this type of player. He will roll his sleeves up and no matter what buy into the project and understand his role. BTA, Bidwell and Allen are all cut from the same cloth.
He's the Martin Hancock of the Championship. That’s a pretty good analogy
Like Flynn and Telfer he will do whatever told his asked to and work it as well as he can if starting or off the bench. So for a manager like Lampard he’s ideal.
He seems to be at his best when he does things instinctively, not so good when he has time to think.
I recall one of the managers in the 70’s (might have been Shankly?) saying that when he was scouting a player he was always looking to see what he did when he had time.
You're alright - it was a cracking effortAbsolutely, from memory his goals, certainly the better finishes, come when he doesn’t think about it and just lets it go.
There was a first time shot from well outside the area yesterday and from the stand it looked a pisser and unlucky not to be another screamer.
disclaimer - it was at the other end and I forgot my glasses. So it could well have been nearer the corner flag.
I never said he was wonderful, I said he played "well"
He scored 1 goal and had a hand in 2 others, if he did that every week I'd be more than happy. I've said before we need better players than Asante and Simms, but when a player plays well, I'll acknowledge it and give credit where its due.
How on earth that performance rated 4/10 is beyond me, that can only be bias.
How many points are you giving him against QPR? You may as well post it now for all its worth.
I'm not biased at all; I just don't rate him.
Slagging him off? I'm pointing out his obvious faults and saying that I don't think hes good enough. He plays and I support him. He does something good, I applaud him. He scores, I cheer. I'm not one of those who boos and constantly derides a player during a game. I just have an opinion on what I think his level of ability is. So climb down from your high horse. He’s paid to score, that’s what he did ffs. Stop slagging our players off and enjoy the winning feeling
At last someone who speaks common sense.BTA is the type that doesn't let you down, he works for the team, looks like a good squad mate and has a positive attitude. They both always wear a bandage on their wrists for no particular reason
Wonder if they contain some kind of vapour given off,not like a stimulant though,or do they have no significance at all?On Saturday, BTA, EMC, Haji Wright and MvE all had bandaged hands, wrists.

You just don't know how a change or particular switch of personnel can affect things in a particular game but I agree that he seemed to have a good contribution in that position much like when we saw Simms out there against Preston back in the season before last, whether that means Saka's place is under threat though I doubt it.First half we couldn't get going down our right-side, BTA had one opening where he needed to square it but went the wrong way. Felt like we were really missing Saka
Credit where it is due though he got better as the game progressed, scored and kept the ball alive for the 5th. Would still want a winger though to stop him having to play there

Imagine being so miserable you’ve spent time going through his individual stats as ammunition to publicly slate one of our own players after 5-3 away win. Bizarre!4 passes completed
