Not sure what to think about that...insane, unbelievable, bonkers, all 3 ??
Having led twice, then going 3-2 down, i could feel that inevitable black cloud of depression starting to form...'typical city' i thought.
Then in 7 mad minutes, we were 4-3 up...on top of the world wooo hooo, and as if that wasn't enough, Torp then rifles another into the corner of the net, to imho, get the MoM award and our 5th goal.
Yet despite the great win, i have some niggles.
Rushworth looked shaky when ANY cross came in, Dasliva gave the ball away alot, and BTA, despite the goal, looked ineffective.
Even Bobby Thomas had a mad game, scoring with a front post header, then giving away a ridiculous penalty.
Rudoni wasn't really in the game either, which is also a worry.
But despite all that, we still scored 5.
MAD game.
La La La, La La La La La!!!!

Fucking love the city..

Great result.
Fair play. Once we went 3-2 down we went into full control mode although I think we dominated throughout, just gifting silly moments to them.

The tales of Bobby Thomas. Moments of brilliance tangled in with moments of calamity. Some dodgy moments from Rushworth too but a cracking 3 points and we move on….

Team looked sharp. We do need a new CB because if we can cut out these errors it would be more comfortable.

Imagine being a Derby fan. Excited for the new season. Played 2, lost 2, bottom and conceded 8 in the first two!
I think any centre back not good enough to play regularly in the prem will want to come to us... why wouldn't they!

Right, I know many of you are new to association football and have only been watching the game for a very short while, but just to let you know, a match lasts 90 mins plus added on time. 👍🏻

Looking back at this match thread, you would have said we were certainties for relegation. 😂🤪

Anyway, we were the better team the whole game and only wobbled when they got that 3rd goal, which looked to me, like a miss hit.

Lots and lots of posts calling for FL to change things around, but we did constantly look dangerous and obviously now it's been proved the manager was right to leave things as they were.

Defensively, it's still a worry, but if we can keep on scoring goals at the other end, we'll be fine
From the Direby board,

I felt their play going forward was miles ahead of ours and the most technically gifted players on the pitch were almost exclusively theirs too.

Great passes, also carried the ball forward well on a few occasions. Read on X that his missus went into labour yesterday but he decided to play this morning and headed to game on his own. Not sure if this is true (never know with X) but if so fair play, proper leader

Edit - just seen the quote from Lampard will post on Kitching thread

Dasilva delivered the second highest number of accurate passes (39) behind Grimes across both teams. Though his pass accuracy was slightly better than Grimes (87% v 86%) and Cov’s average was 79%. Rudoni was the only player ahead of him at 90%. BTA only delivered 4 accurate passes (50%).

It’s in the rules, however I found it interesting that we played for another 5-10 seconds outside the box while he was down, then as soon as we got into the box he stopped the game so the ball had to go back to the keeper. He was holding his head the whole time, so why wait?
I just dont think he had much of a clue and was guessing for most of the game.
For their pen he'd turned and was running away from the box and even crossed his arms to say no penalty, then fully turned 180 and changed his mind for some reason and gave the pen.
Watch back the extended highlight. He 100% runs off and says no pen and in the same movement changes his mind then gives it. Odd as fuck.

He definitely arrived on his own. I was at the players entrance and he came from the players car park about 15 minutes before the team coach arrived.

6mins48sec he comes in to the pic running away from goal and crossing his arms to say no penalty. Then stops, turns and blows in 1 movement. WTF?!?!

I haven't read any of this thread (probably a blessing)....... and i watched it on TV

I thought that up until 3-3 it was a really poor game (its strange to say for a game with 8 goals in it). It seemed like a classic CCFC game that we had ample opportunities to win, but looked like we were ultimately going to throw away.

Then we had a real quality spell and our 4th and 5th were absolutely superb.

It was fully deserved.

Our style of play seems very polarising..... when its not working we look slow and ponderous..... but after a 5-3 away win it would be insane to have complaints
