If someone wants to throw silly money at us for Rudoni while there are still a couple of weeks left in the window then we should do it imo. We will have the backup plans ready and the money would be transformative.

Anyone saying it would kill our season obviously didn’t see us look like dogshit until January last season and still make the playoffs.
There are no backup plans, you are a hostage to the fee you received for him

Realistically he’s not going to a Prem team without at least another half season of elite performances here. If a Championship team wants to overpay for him then we should let them. The money we received for Gyokeres and Hamer completely changed the trajectory of the club and we’d need a very good reason not to do it again.
the reason is it seriously weakens us and we don't need to sell

Do they ?
Transfermarket have him as a right sided player who can play attacking midfielder, not a million miles away from the areas Rudoni occupies
dibling plays on the right, rudi in a ten role

they can play each others role but are far less effective there

People are talking as if we’d be running around with our hair on fire if we chose to sell Rudoni - one would hope/expect that we’ve gamed out who the replacements would be if we sold our best player for a king’s ransom, and we’d have funds to improve the squad in other areas too. We are in a strong negotiating position and will only sell if we can use the cash to take the team up another level.

Like we did with Hamer?

we'll sell him if we get the offer we want, it's very different to the gus and vik sales given the length of contract and he is unlikely to do what vik would likely have done and just not came back

i'm just not sure southampton are going to pay what we'd want

Timing wouldn’t be ideal so would want a replacement in before selling. It would allow us a huge amount of money to reinvest and improve the squad as a whole. It could also help us get the best out of the strike force if we move to 2 up top. Only way of doing that is losing the wingers or losing Rudoni. We all knew he’d have teams after him after last season, what happens if he gets injured or his form falls off a cliff?

So after tonights game , all Rudoni talk aside , how do we fell about the squad now ?
Personally thought both Raphael and Andrews showed enough to keep and play a part as the season progresses.
Jamie Allen for the zillionth time showed again just how useful he is to the squad and wouldn't be easily replaced .
For me a new Centre Back is a must
One out ,one in up front would be nice
And a couple of top attacking loanees would be my preference

2.5 weeks to spend £25m would be a disaster. It would be the footballing equivalent of a round of supermarket sweep

We’ve got a recruitment team who plan for people to leave, it could be a disaster, it’s highly unlikely we would bring in better as a direct replacement but we could bring in 5 new starters for that kind of money and get promoted. Brentford sold their 2 best players the summer before going up

if we are going to sell rudi which there's no real evidence we are then we'll sign the replacements first

it's the only way that to do that makes sense

Selling Rudoni would create a lot of negativity amongst the fan base. With Hamer Gyokeres we had to cash in as they both had only a year left on their contracts and neither were sold to teams we were competing with
It would be completely mental at this stage, and the cope from some of our fans on here around if it happened is even more mental

We also had to cash in to buy the likes of Rudoni, Wright, MVE etc.

Yes which is fine if it were FIFA and transfer fee's were fixed.

Its late in the window, fee's are gonna be inflated, players reluctant to up sticks and move, higher wage demands.

THEY FUCKING HAD ONE YEAR LEFT ON THEIR CONTRACTS. It’s a completely different set of circumstances

True and that's why Rudoni hasn't gone anywhere and if he does, it will be for a massive fee.

Thanks for Hamer and Gyokeres, we've been able to spend more money than ever in our history. That has long ran out.
