I see what you're saying but do we have a better option currently?
I think to be fair, I’d go with EMC and Wright out of the options we have.

But that’s only as I don’t know where Simms is at. As you say he’s a massive confidence player, while it seems good to get on the pitch, it can also have the adverse effect.

Simms has all the tools to do well in this system but seems to be holding himself back.

No. I can’t see him joining a rival in the championship. Might as well have stayed at Leicester.

He was on over £100j a week at leicester too.

what’s the rumour ?
Well not even the richest club in the world would pay him 100k a week, so forget what he has been on.. at this point he has no club so even 15k is more than what he is getting!

Yeah couple of minutes ago...apparently at the cbs. I thought had already signed elsewhere lol
While I'm currently placing this in the 'totally made up' file if I humour the idea how on earth would he fit into Lampard's attacking system? He wouldn't suit the striker role, would probably cost loads in wages and is nowhere near the player he was a few years ago.

He’s got good movement, maybe we could play more low crosses into the box?

Clearly nonsense tho

Maybe we should let him go on loan for 6 months. As much as we moan about our players going to Scotland on loan, if Simms could join one of the better SPL sides and be the stand out striker in a poor division I think that would actually do him some good.

Yeah I don’t disagree but again would worry what happens when he’d come back and have a shite game.

I think we should sell him for his benefit as much as ours, a fresh start in a team built to suit him would do him good and maybe we could add a sell on

He'll go to America, isn't he a part owner of an MLS side?
I think his options include Leeds, Sunderland, Wrexham and the MLS but his issue is that he wants to play not be on the bench and his family are settled and not sure about relocating …. He turned down a move to Italy because of the family’s reaction to it.

Would he be our first choice at 38 years old?

Modern football no one takes a man on anymore for fear of losing the ball. If you watched the Brum game one of their lads took someone on, got out muscled and lost is and the crowd were fuming.

I'm afraid the days of swash buckling wingers are long gone. Watch Grealish at City now, terrified to take anyone on. Martinelli at Arsenal the same
Said exactly this. Same with people no longer banging in a 30 yard thunderc*nt. Possession is nine tenths of the game :sneaky:

Sheff Weds will be able to sign players soon, as the bills have been paid. Tell them we have strikers and goalies surplus to requirements and come and get them?? ( or are they so bad even Wendies won't want them?)

Vardy presumably lives fairly locally, probably within an hours drive, and we were likely to be the nearest live game to go to. Shock scenes as football man goes to watch a footbal match.

A 38 year old striker whose entire game was based on runs in behind signing for a team who never create chances for their strikers to run in behind. Sounds like a perfect match.
Partially true … his movement to get on the end of crosses is also a key strength ….

Yep. Vardy’s natural strength (even at 38) lies in space. We pack the box and cross for 90 minutes; especially now ~half the league will play a low(ish) block against us.

And that’s ignoring the wedge he was on at Leicester and the obvious affinity they have for him.
