I'd like to think its for my sanity
Because I find watching a limited player putting himself about far less frustrating than watching a player with ability (wright) strolling around not giving a fuck
Call me weird but I'd rather a guy who scores 10-15 goals a season much easier to watch than a striker who only troubles corner flags

Sadly, one of a few very overpriced signings from Mark Robins and his staff.

He doesn't quite fit the style of play. He needs to play in a counter attacking team.

Exactly. It was a game more suited to Simms than Asante but that might have more to do with freezing out Simms rather than wanting to playing Asante.

The Simms situation is baffling. He's clearly our best number 9.

Our best football in the past 18 months was a front 3 of. An outlet down the middle and two inverted wingers.

It’s similar to Godden in a way; people banging on about how he allegedly puts the opposition defence under pressure by chasing defenders, yet his ability at this level is clearly not there! I will again offer my cocker spaniel for £1k a week, as he too loves to chase balls but then if he does get the ball do fuck all with it.

His semi-decent spell last year came when we were playing two up front, in the 5-3-2 formation. He should never be a lone striker/target player as he cannot hold the ball at all…it just bounces off him

Your dog probably chases his own tail less often than BTA I suppose

What I didn't get is, that for a supposed, strong, physical player, he didn't half get out-muscled a lot yesterday.
He’s a relatively small but muscular guy playing against taller and stronger men. He is not going to out muscle the opposition.

I don’t think Godden is the comparison?! Godden was a smart, goal poacher with clever movement rather than an energy / chasing player.

Still haven’t fixed the problems from last season, all you you have to do is sit deep and let us have the ball, we can’t break teams down, guarantee if we’d of gone a goal down yesterday we’d of come out and played a bit more, it’s like we’re too safe all the time, saka and EMC just went backwards all the time,

I know what will sort it!

Let's spend all our cash on a defender!

One positive out of the game.
Likely we would have lost that yesterday with Collins in goal.

Apologies, I should have made clear that I was referring to Godden in his final season. A lot of puff, but the quality was lacking

There's been plenty of small, muscular forwards throughout history, who offer/offered more physicality. Or that can at least stay on their feet. He always seems to end up on the floor.

EMC started to get the better of his man and then got subbed. Keith Lemon was then moved to the left and continued to be ineffective . Appeared to be preplanned substitution. Made no sense at all.
now that is so bloody funny! Keith Lemon! i am still tittering about this quote, brightened my day up

Emc had beaten his man a couple of times and that’s his quota, im not sure which one is the bigger waste of money him or Asante
