That seems low considering his age and contract left.

Plus aren’t Everton signing drewsbury hall
He won't be going at that price Southampton have turned down bids of £27 & £35 million for TD. Southampton had a bid rejected by the club for Rudoni. He has another 3 years on his contract to let him go for anything less than £25 million plus add ons would be giving him away.

I agree with this But…. I understand our model is also promising prospective players we are trying to sign that we would not stand in their way if a top/ premiership team came knocking. For us to show this is more than just words we probably have to walk this walk too even if it is unpopular with some fans.

We just need to trust Doug will get the best fee possible if this happens.

I imagine this promise to prospective players makes us pretty attractive and may be how we managed to get some of our better players.

At the same time Rudoni has to respect that the club will have a price tag. If another club hits that then fine.

why not? Clearly there is money there and Lampard has identified that position as one we need to strengthen
Where has an 8 figure sum of money come from? I could perhaps see it if all of the Binks, Vik and MVE (yet to be sold) money is put together, but Grimes cost a fair whack too.

If a club comes in and offers what he is worth - which is absolutely £20m+ - I'd be surprised if they turned it down.

At the same time, he's adding another £5-10m to his value next summer if he has a similar season, and then with 2 years left on his deal, would be the peak time to sell.

well apparently we bid 5.5m for Rushworth, and that was before Binks was sold and Vo=ik joined Arsenal. We aren't shopping in the bargain bins anymore

Nobody knows for sure. We could have had new investment for all we truly know. Or some of the previous purchases werent as we were told.

I hope we are. Some big signings would be nice, but bargain bins are named that for a reason.

Rudoni is the best midfielder outside the Premiership and that’s £30m with 3 years left on his contract.

You saying he’s worth £30m? Or you quoting someone else? I like Rudoni but no way is he worth £30m, yes he’s got a lot of potential but no team should be paying £30m for him, that’s a premier league sorta figure and he’s not proven to be at that level at all yet. I think somewhere around the £17-£20m would be fair tbh.

we will sell one day but unless the offer so good we can't say no it's not this season

he's worth 30m to us, he has a long term contract and we have no need to sell

his value currenyly isn't his worth as a footballer but the amount needed to make us ell our best player now when there is no need to do so

Maybe I'm being naive but can't see him jumping ship to another Championship team, his next move is a big one but he's only really excelled in the last 6 months. He is getting to learn from his hero and be the main man here. That's a lot to give up for a move to Southampton. Maybe a prem team could tempt him but I just don't feel we sell this early.

Sure, I just don’t see where the cash is coming from.
We also, with all these figures being band around, how much is actually upfront and what is add-ons? I can't believe we would pay £5.5m for a keeper who is no better than Dovin who cost a fraction of that. Or that we will pay £10m for a CB.

I can certainly accept that those numbers probably represent the total possible value of the package rather than the base fee. It still looks too high relative to what else we've spent, considering we've committed in the region of £7m on Grimes and KKH already.
